Greetings!

There are just two weeks left in trimester 2! That means that this weekend would be a great time to review progress in PowerSchool. How do your student's grades look? Are they where you want them to be? What about absences - any surprises there? Are there any missing assignments? Even some that you are sure were completed? If so, you might try dump out those backpacks and check the lockers.

Consider taking some time this three-day weekend to set a few goals for trimester 3. Is your student suitably challenged academically? Does attendance need to improve? Grades? How about those upcoming MCA tests? What will help your student achieve their potential, and what can you, the student, and CVA do to help?

Enjoy the weekend!

Come Join Us for History Day

Come help the Level 2, 3, and 3+ students celebrate History Day on Tuesday, February 26 from 3:00-4:00. This year's research theme is Turning Points in History: People, Events, Ideas. Exhibits will be in the gym, websites and a documentary will be in the science room and math room, and performances will be in the music room. Student Council students will sell snacks in the entryway to the gym. Street parking may be your best bet. Please be careful if you enter the parking lot because Talmud Torah dismisses students at 3:15.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to parents and former CVA students who have volunteered to be judges this year. We now have 20! We could still use a couple additional judges. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Koenen.

See you at the fair!!!!

Re-Enrollment Time

For families whose children will be returning to CVA next year, our reenrollment window is now open.  Current families have preference for next year's placement, and siblings have priority over new families.

Enrollment will be open to the public via lottery on March 1st for any spots still unfilled by current CVA families. Enrollment forms have been placed in student mailboxes, or you can download and print the form by clicking here

Enrollment forms should be returned to Melissa in the front office.  We look forward to working with your family again in the coming school year!

 March Lunches

Lunch orders for March are due in the office by February 25th.  For a copy of the form, click here.  All Monday and Tuesday hot lunches must be pre-ordered and pre-paid! Please do not send money with your child in the morning to purchase a lunch for that same day.

Pizza Wednesdays will continue offering cheese and pepperoni pizza for $3 per slice or 2 slices for $5. However, students are requested to pay in advance into a lunch account using the attached order form rather than bringing cash each week.

Milk is also available daily at a cost of $0.05 to students. Students can sign up for milk in advance, or purchase it daily.

Pennies for Patients

So far, we have raised over $212 for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society.  Our goal by Friday, Feb 22 is to reach $450.  If the students achieve/surpass this goal, the teachers will dress up as a "food item" for a day.

Sandwich Making

The CVA Student Council successfully completed their third "sandwich-making" activity of the year for Our Saviour's Housing in Minneapolis.  Along with many bags of chips, granola bars and candies, Aniq A, Seamus F, Thais H, Holly C, and Mackenna K made 93 sandwiches to deliver to the shelter.  What a great way to show you care!  Thanks for volunteering!

Energy Tip of the Week

brought to you by the CVA Student Council/Eco Team

Don't let the computer run all day. Only power on the computer, monitor, printer and fax machine when you need them. Don't leave them on after you're finished working. Computers and other office equipment still use energy in sleep mode.

Yours for the kids, CVA - International Baccalaureate World School
