Greetings,
April is undoubtedly my favorite month of the year. For me, it represents new life and new beginnings. This April 27th, 2014 marks the 20th Anniversary of Allure Spa. The feelings of joy and gratitude that I possess are simply unexplainable. I am truly thankful for all the clients that have believed in Allure Spa over the years and have made 15 Quincy Ave a place where they come to receive their services and to share their stories. Over the past 20 years, we have built so many relationships with our clients, and also within our staff. The Allure Spa staff has always been more like a family than a staff, being there for one another, supporting each other through good times and bad, and sharing uncountable laughs and gestures of love and care. I feel truly blessed to have such a great team of talented and strong women that I am privileged to work beside each day!
As I reflect on 20 years, I think of how Allure Spa has evolved and changed. When I opened Allure Spa, my son Christian was only a year and a half. I always think that when Allure Spa Changes, Christian changes as well. My husband and I were always so driven, and always pursued making a difference in our community. A lot of times, we opted in putting Christian into day care to pursue our dreams. At such a young age, Christian made so many sacrifices. When his little brother Silas was born as a pre-mature baby, we faced many difficulties as a family. Christian pleaded with us one afternoon that he did not want Silas to have to go to daycare like he did, worrying that it would be "too dark" for Silas when we picked him up.
Christian's innocent statement hit us very hard. My husband and I always provided for our family and realized we had to find the right person to help us care for our family. My sister Brenda was the blessing from God who watched our children for many years which was the foundation of their special bond that they still share to this day even though she now lives over seas.
Christian has always been such a strong mentor for his younger brother Silas. Although I regret not spending as much time with Christian when he was younger, I always made sure that I found the time to instill great qualities in him. He is currently a junior at Gordon College, studying Biology. He is at the point now where he must decide where he would like to go with his degree. With a strong work ethic, I have always pushed Christian to make a difference in whatever he chooses to do. We talk about his future endeavors, and how his gift of caring can make a wonderful and positive impact in society. In whatever job he finds himself in, it is to yes, create a profit to pay the bills; however, as his parents, we have instilled to him to work hard, but always be driven to care and to teach others how to help. As Christian pursues his degree and explores his future, I continue to pray for his success.
There are many new beginnings at Allure Spa that are happening this month.
Many of you may already know Kelly Scola. Kelly worked at Allure Spa as a receptionist about 10 years ago. She was always that smiling face behind the desk that brought so much sun shine to everyone's lives. Kelly decided that she would leave Allure Spa many years ago to pursue her dreams. I promised Kelly that Allure Spa would always be a home to her. Knowing how strong Kelly was, I knew she would blossom to be a success. While having two children, Kelly went back to school and received her certification in massage therapy and esthetics. Not to mention, that she previously studied to become a registered nurse. After graduating, she worked at a local day spa to gain experience as an apprentice. After gaining confidence and experience, she came to visit me at Allure Spa. We never stopped being friends, or keeping in contact over the years; however, on this specific day, Kelly visited Allure with business on her mind. She was very serious that she was ready, accomplished and confident to work at Allure Spa again. I am so proud of Kelly and all her goals. I feel blessed to have her on board again as both an esthetician and massage therapist in our Med Spa. If you ever have the privilege of having a massage with Kelly, she undeniably shows her passion and spirit in every move. Thank you Kelly Scola for your new beginning at Allure Spa!
To celebrate 20 years, I wanted to give back to both clients and staff to pursue a goal I have had for a very long time. For many years, my objective has been to offer medical services, in the comfort of a spa. Last year, we introduced Ultherapy, a non-invasive face lift alternative. Instead of patients going to a doctor's office, they could have the treatment done in our private spa rooms, which offer a more comfortable setting and with our own Med Spa technicians who are very caring and gentle.
I am so grateful to announce that we will be offering, Cynosure, the newest innovation in laser hair removal. I have been waiting some time to offer such a great service and I rest assured that now is the perfect time as we are working with one of the most reputable companies on the market!
I wanted to send a special thank you to all those who have made my dream a reality and have shared these past 20 wonderful years with me!
My staff and I welcome you to come join us on Saturday, April 26th from 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. during our working hours. We will be offering cocktails and appetizers to commemorate our 20 years at Allure Spa!
God Bless,
Sandra Ishmael
