Greetings!
The December month is now upon us, and the holiday spirit is undeniably in the air! The seasonal festivities have always presented such wonderful gifts for me. Being able to share my love with my family, friends, and Allure Spa Team has always been the perfect ingredients for a Merry Merry Christmas!
Because Thanksgiving was held so late this year, it seems that this week we have jumped head first into our preparation for the holiday season! We have sprinkled our holiday decor around the salon, prepared all the gift cards and "ready made" gift card bags, as well as arranged our "One-Stop Gift Shop" with new Spa Comfort gifts and France Laure skincare kits!
I bet many of you can agree, that we are still trying to play "catch up" from Thanksgiving week. Since I moved here from Trinidad 25 years ago, I have never had my family come up to visit me for Thanksgiving. This year, I was so blessed to have my brother David, his wife and two teenage children, and my sister Linda, her husband Dennis and their two boys. Needless to say, we had a full house!
We enjoyed a full week filled with family bonding, laughter, colorful spreads at each meal, Charades as entertainment at night and boundless love that was shared to one another. It was truly a week of family celebrations!
As I enter into my busiest season at Allure Spa, I often question how am I truly going to be able to accomplish everything? This year, I have something very different planned for my Christmas festivities. My sister Glenda, is getting married in Trinidad the weekend right before Christmas. I have been struggling with the idea of leaving Allure Spa the week before Christmas to attend the wedding. I bounced back and forth with the idea with my family over Thanksgiving.
My youngest son Silas, responded back to my thoughts by saying, "Mom, you have to go to Glenda's wedding. That would be like me missing my own brother Christian's wedding."
I apologized to my son Silas and to my family that I didn't see past my own busy schedule, and immediately booked the flight ticket. I look forward to spending more time with all of my family and to ring in the New Year with such wonderful celebrations. Although, my family can be thousands of miles away from each other, our hearts our always so near to each other.
I wanted to take the opportunity in this newsletter to thank and wish all the people that have touched my life this year in very unique ways that have represented the basic ingredients to my complete recipe!
I wanted to acknowledge the whole Allure Spa family for their impressive hard work, talent, love and consideration they exhibit to one another throughout the year. Being a family and true supporters to one another has been such a great gift!
Friends of the World Charitable Trust (FOTWCT) has been one of my greatest passions in my life. I am truly blessed to be able to work with wonderful people with philanthropic minds and amazing visions. I have started to feel a sense of revitalization these past few months. I have discovered this new excitement by working closely with the Career Closet at Interfaith Social Services. It has allowed me and FOTWCT to discover the desperate need located directly in our own back yards and local communities. We have such a wonderful opportunity to give back to those in need. I have been so blessed in my life, and I will continue to bless others.
Lastly, I wanted to thank all those who enter Allure Spa doors and touch all of our lives. Clients of Allure have been the greatest gift to all of us all. Without you, we would not feel the compelling message to help one another and offer a special touch that lifts one another' spirits.
This April, we will be celebrating 20 years in business.I want to make this celebration for both my staff and for the clients. For the next four months, we welcome clients that have been to Allure Spa for the past 20 years to share their story with us! We look forward to sharing your stories and ours in the next coming months in our newsletters.
From our family to yours, we wish you the gift of peace this holiday and blessings to you in the New Year!
God Bless,
Sandra Ishmael & Staff
