Greetings!
I hope you and your family had a safe and warm New Year, and I hope that we can all can look forward to the new beginnings and goals that it represents.
Thank you again for your continuous support over the holiday months. We enjoyed servicing you and sharing your holiday spirit with us.
With our new gift card system at Allure Spa, we require that there is a first and last name with the number in case the gift card is ever lost or stolen. The most exciting part for us this year is that we were able to identify our clients families; including husbands, wives, children, brothers, sisters and grandparents through the process! We were delighted to learn about their relation to our clients, hear about the holiday plans and share in the excitement of the holidays.
This past December, I felt a calling to reach out to my sister Glenda in Trinidad. Glenda has been such an influential person to my worship and she has also helped me tremendously with the mission work in Bangladesh. In our conversations that took place in early December, she inspired me to be more prayerful and continue with my worship, as well as continue to empower others throughout the holiday season. With the understanding that Christmas can be very difficult for many of us, I trusted her judgement. I found myself engrossed in my scripture reading and praying powerfully.
As many of you know, my husband Andy travels for work to both Trinidad and Florida. Many times, we do not know how long his trips may be, or when he may return. This year, we were looking forward to spending Christmas together with our children for a whole week. A week before Christmas, Andy learned that he would not be able to be home from Trinidad, until a couple days before Christmas. With the stresses of the holiday, and taking care of the boys, I would typically be very upset and disappointed. Andy admittedly told his mother that he didn't look forward to the phone call to his wife, because he knew what my reaction would be.
To his surprise, I responded sweetly and with an unbeat tone, I replied, "No worries Andy, please come home safe when you can. Your family is in great spirits and can't wait to see you and spend some time together with you."
He responded, "What light has come down on you this year?"
I giggled because it was true. This past Christmas I had a loving spirit in me from my scripture reading and powerful prayer, and I was enjoying all the gifts that the holidays brought me: Good health and optimistic spirit, loving family, supportive and kind staff, amazing clients, and positive worship. I felt so blessed.
Thank you again for all your business and support! I look froward to seeing you in the new year.
The Allure Spa Sparkle Polish
For those of you that know me, you know that I can never sit still and am always on the go. Getting a manicure is oftentimes impossible, and Savi always reminds me that I am a bad client. This December, my staff and Friends of the World Charitable Trust attended the Feed the Hungry Gala for Interfaith Social Services. Savi insisted that I get a shellac manicure before the fundraiser, so that the polish would last two weeks and into the holiday season. I have been to weddings, graduations and other functions and have never worn nail polish! I typically don't wear polish primarily because of my line of work, and also because I can't sit still for the 30 minute service!
Of course Savi picked out a striking red polish with a red sparkle on top. I couldn't believe how many of my clients had noticed that I was actually wearing polish! I felt so festive!
Thereafter, my staff all had to have the red shellac polish with sparkles. We named it The Allure Spa Holiday Sparkle. Something as little as nail polish had brightened up our holiday cheer!
