On February 2, Chris Kyle, a dedicated father, a decorated former Navy SEAL sniper and generous man, was killed in a tragic situation. (Read more here.) Our Military Families program was honored to help the Kyle family by means of donating $150 to a collection being organized by Shaun Beiswanger of Sniper Company. All the funds will be directed to Kyle's family to help them during this most difficult time. For all those who support our Military Families, we thank you! You bring comfort to those who mourn.

Last week we asked you to stay tuned for some great news regarding our Rising Stars. While we are still putting the finishing touches on our press release, let us share with you this much:
Over 12,800 items donated worth over $109,000
2,319 volunteers serving 8,600 hours worth over $65,000
Over $174,000 total in-kind donations to FWCS and EACS
Over 10,000 families benefiting from over 50 churches and organizations linked to 38 elementary schools

FOOD COLLECTION ALERT!!!
NEEDED: CANNED GOODS! A report from our warehouse manager shows that we have an abundance of dry goods right now. What that means is we do not need food that comes in bags or boxes.
We are down to only three skids of canned goods. We NEED canned fruit, vegetables, beans, broths, soup, tuna, and peanut butter.
If you are hosting food drives, including the traditional Fishes and Loaves Collection, please announce these needs to your members.
If your business or organization would like to make a financial contribution to assist in purchasing food, please contact Steve Staley, Director of Development at 422-3528. If you have questions regarding food drives, call Chris Alvarez at 422-6721.
