April 8, 2015                         NEWSFLASH
Welcome to Spring Term!
Adds and Drops

Many OLLI courses start later in the term and still have seats available. Consider using the Advanced Search option on the website to find courses that fit your schedule. Remember, if you've discovered you need to drop any of your courses, please email the office with DROP in the subject line and course title/number in the message area. Be aware that students who are registered in a course but who cannot attend the first class session must notify the OLLI office prior to the first class meeting or risk being dropped if there are students on the wait list for the course. The OLLI office will be certain those who are dropped are promptly notified.

List of One-Credit Courses Now Available!

If you are age 65+ and an Oregon resident for at least one year, check out the OLLI courses that have been designated for one credit through SOU for Spring 2015. Some courses in which you are already enrolled or are considering adding to your schedule may qualify. Click here for program details and benefits. To participate, please complete just one form, even if taking multiple qualifying ccourses. Don't worry if you miss a class on the form; the office will add any qualifying classes that you may have omitted. The form must be received at the Ashland or Medford OLLI office by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22.

Tributes to OLLI Courses, Connections, Volunteers and Instructors
The Ashland Daily Tidings has published numerous stories on our worthy program recently. Enjoy:
  • Tidings Editor Bert Etling, writes about his upcoming OLLI class on citizen journalism (2/18/15)
  • Peggy Evans' course focusing on SOU Music Faculty is featured (3/11/15)
  • OLLI Community Relations Chair Margaret Pashko describes how OLLI serves those experiencing transitions (3/25/15)
  • OLLI member and instructor Mary Coombs pays tributes to fellow volunteers and instructors (3/31/15)
Truly, this is "citizen journalism!" - another benefit of living in a community with two daily newspapers.
