SOU Benefits for OLLI Members

Free Concerts. SOU Chamber Music Concerts is holding special, free concerts for OLLI members. The first, featuring the Zemlinksy Quartet, is on November 9 from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the Music Recital Hall.

Cafeteria. OLLI members are considered the same as SOU students with regard to use of SOU dining facilities including the new Hawk Dining Hall across Siskiyou on Wightman. You can purchase meals on an individual basis: breakfast for $7.00, lunch for $8.50 and dinner for $10.50. In addition you can purchase and use one of the meal plans offered to the SOU community.

Bus Pass. SOU's Enrollment Services has discounted bus passes for students. That benefit extends only to OLLI members who are enrolled in the OLLI One Credit Program. The passes are just $15 per term after a one-time enrollment fee of $15.

Senior Discounts. Use your OLLI name badge to take advantage of 10% savings at the SOU Bookstore and $15 "senior subscriber" ticket rate at SOU Theatre Arts performances.

And don't forget the opportunity for those 65+ to audit SOU classes tuition-free! Click for an audit form, also available in the OLLI office. These must be processed through SOU Enrollment Services after SOU instructor approval.

Giving Back to SOU

Want to say thanks to what may be your last alma mater? Here are two ways.

Participate in SOU Governance Discussions. Read the appeal from SOU President Mary Cullinan soliciting input from constituents (that includes you). You are encouraged to visit the SOU Governance Options website. It will be updated periodically, including a calendar for public meetings. There is one this Friday from 2:00-3:00 pm, including a Q&A, in the Rogue River Room of the SOU Stevenson Union. Note that the navigation buttons at the top of the screen on the Governance website provide a way to comment electronically. All of us are affected by what happens with this important community resource.

Mentor an SOU Honors Student. Click for details on how you can help those who are studying for a field in which you have expertise and contacts.
