Go SOAR-ing Next Week!
Attend the annual Southern Oregon Arts & Research (SOAR) event held at various locations on the SOU campus May 13-17. Click here for details of the free performances, exhibits, podium presentations and poster sessions generated by SOU students and faculty. Free campus parking available all week.
OLLI is also actively participating. On Wednesday, May 15, don't miss "Sidelights, Insights and Surprises at OSF '13," featuring OLLI instructors Annette Lewis, Kathy Rosengren, Earl Showerman, Susan Stitham and Suzanne Witucki. The panel presentation will be held in room 329 of the Hannon Library from 1:30 to 3:30. Then, on Friday, May 17, listen and watch as OLLI Poeteers and several SOU faculty perform (not just read or recite) original and traditional poetry from 10:00 to 11:30 in the Meese Room of the Hannon Library.

Theatre-Style Seating at OLLI?
Have you been unable to schedule one or more OLLI classes that are in high demand? Had to crane your neck to read the subtitles on a foreign film? OLLI has identified a potential building site adjacent to the Campbell Campus for expanded facilities, including a larger classroom with theatre-style seating. We need hard facts to determine whether to proceed with construction. Your tax-deductible contribution to the Jean Collonge Design Fund will produce a site survey, architectural drawings and a tight cost estimate for a go-no go decision. All donations will be matched by the Collonge family. Please support this vital project. Email Sally for details.

May is Older Americans Month
Each May, Older Americans Month celebrates the contributions of older adults. This year's theme -"Unleash the Power of Age!"- emphasizes the important role of older adults in the vitality of countless charitable organizations.
OLLI is no exception. OLLI was born of and has been sustained by members like you for the past twenty years. Since our program runs so smoothly, many members are unaware that all of OLLI's operations, including our curriculum, instructor support, lectures and forums, office support, fund development, social events, landscaping, facilities planning, communication tools and governance are totally dependent on volunteers.
Keep our program thriving. When asked to help in some way, just say "yes." We have an immediate opening for a LINK editor, for example. With all volunteer roles, you have ultimate control of the amount of time you contribute.
