Don't Forget to Return Fall Course Requests
Deadline for Optimizing Course Selection is August 17

OLLI at SOU is one of few OLLI programs nationwide that provides its members with a course selection period in which all members have an equal chance of being admitted to the courses they prefer rather than using a "first come, first served" registration method. For Fall 2012, that period ends August 17. That's when the Course Enrollment committee assigns courses that are over-subscribed on a lottery basis. After that, it's open enrollment based on space availability.

Don't miss out on optimizing your chances of geting the course(s) you prefer. If you haven't already done so, fill out a member enrollment form, check out the course catalog, and fill out the course request form.
Be sure the two forms are received in the OLLI office by August 17.
OLLI Ambassador Program

As announced in the LINK, OLLI has created an Ambassador Corps to foster a two-way exchange of information about programs and events with other organizations that share OLLI's mission of providing intellectual stimulation and/or social connection to Rogue Valley adults.  Click here for a list of members of the Corps, the organizations they cover and more details about the program.

While the Corps is comprised of members who have been specially trained to represent OLLI to community groups, all OLLI members can serve as ambassadors to individuals in the community. To make it easy, we've printed a special folded business card that describes the OLLI program and provides contact information. Supplies of the card are available in the office.
OLLI in the News

News about the OLLI program has been buzzing around the community lately. OLLI ambassador Betty Kazmin wrote a guest opinion that ran in the Mail Tribune and Daily Tidings, member Jim Flint wrote an article that also appeared in both newspapers, and the  regular weekly series in the Daily Tidings on OLLI instructors profiled Wolf Hoppe. If you missed these, click on the links. In addition, Elisabeth Zinser is scheduled for an interview on the Jefferson Exchange on August 16 from 8:30-9:00 am.
