Greetings!
News for OLLI members...
We wanted to get the word out about the New Parking Management Plan in Downtown Medford since we heard that some permit options are based on a limited supply only.
We also wanted to let you know about an OLLI member discount for tickets to a talk by Sam Anderson tomorrow (Thursday) night. |
New Parking Management Plan in Medford
The City of Medford is implementing a new Parking Management Plan within the Parking Enforcement Area in Downtown Medford. Employees, residents, students, and visitors will see some changes happening as early as October 1st.
- All on-street parking will remain free, but in the busy "core" area, it is restricted to (1) one hour free parking.
- Students and visitors can park for free for (3) three hours in the Middleford and Evergreen parking garages.*
- Time limits will change in some areas to better manage parking for short-term parkers.
- The old parking machines will be replaced with new machines that will offer hourly, daily, and weekly parking in designated facilities. Machines will accept credit card and coin.
- Customers will have the option to pay for parking via their cell phone.
- Monthly Parking Permits are offered in most parking facilities. See brochure* for details, including information about weekly and quarterly permits. Some permits are specific to certain lots, whereas other permits are interchangeable and can be used in several facilities.
- Action Parking Services manages the City of Medford's parking permits and enforcement. Please contact Action Parking if you are interested in purchasing a permit: Action Parking Services, 116 E 6th St., Medford OR 97501 - Tel.#: (541) 324-6157
* All of the details of the new parking plan as well as a link to a Downtown Medford Parking Brochure (that includes a parking map) in PDF format can be found at the City of Medford website. |

Sam Anderson
a critic-at-large for the New York Times and a graduate of SOU
Thursday September 29, 2011 7:30 PM North Medford High School Auditorium
Known for his "imitative reviews", Anderson takes on the style of the writer being reviewed while working in the standard elements of a book review - summary, context, verdict. A funny guy whose reviews and essays are full of great wit and humor, he blends academia with pop culture and wise guy, off-the-cuff observations that make the reader laugh out loud.
