Forced rehab: A solution for Australia's Grog Addicts?
Australia's Northern Territory has a serious drink problem and has introduced some of the world's harshest measures to deal with it. Drunks can now be forced into rehabilitation - and jailed if they drop out.

Krokodil Drug hits US major cities
Use of a a flesh-eating heroin substitute that rots the skin of addicts has now spread to a Chicago suburb, according to local media reports. 
Pot use may permanently damgae the teenage brain
"Children who start [using marijuana] around pre-adolescence, 13 to 15 years of age, tend to develop very severe deficits," says Dr. Asaf Keller, a professor of neurobiology at the U.S. university.
Substance abuse and bipolar disorder: A lethal mix
Here's a troubling statistic: more than 60 per cent of people with Bipolar I Disorder also have a lifetime diagnosis of Substance Use Disorder, and just under 50 per cent of those with Bipolar II Disorder - considered the less severe form, also have a substance-abuse problem. In fact bipolar and substance abuse are over six times more likely to occur together than to happen by chance

Drug gangs are hacking into computers at European ports to allow them to smuggle in entire container shipments of contraband, Europe's crime fighting agency has disclosed.

As we all prepare for the Holiday Season, there may be questions and concerns that you have about how to best handle situations with addicted loved ones. Even if you have an addiction yourself, you may also be the loved one of an addict (of any kind), possibly having grown up in an addicted family or currently in a significant relationship with an addict. No matter what your specific situation is, in this Tele-Class you will learn more about what addiction really is and how to set healthy, appropriate boundaries with the people you love who are still using destructive addictive behaviors.
