August's tzedakah recipient is Hero House, a non-profit organization that helps people recovering from mental illness.
Preparing for the High Holidays - Series   

The month before Rosh Hashanah is dedicated to doing the hard work of taking account of our lives, preparing for a new year ahead, and familiarizing ourselves with the deep meaning of the liturgy. Come join us at our High Holiday Prep series. The next class will be August 23 from 7 to 8:30 pm at Kol Ami. Additional classes will be held at Kol Ami on September 3 & 10 from 7 to 8:30 pm. No cost.

Renew Your Membership

The High Holidays are less than a month away! Make sure that you have sent in your Membership Commitment forms so that your name will be placed on the admittance list for High Holiday services. We appreciate your continued support.

Religious School Registrations
Religious School registrations are due by September 1 for the upcoming school year. Please make sure to send in your registrations so that we can be ready for your students. Classes begin Sunday, September 27th at 2:30 pm. There will be a Parent Orientation and a Welcome Back BBQ.
Listening Campaign
Join us at our last Listening Session where we will discuss what issues keep us up at night and what issues get us going in the morning. It will be held August 22 at 7:30 pm at Ralpha Warton's home in Bellevue. Contact the office for more information.
Shabbat in the Park

Join us for a late Summer Shabbat at Cottage Lake Park on August 28 at 6pm. Bring friends and family for a special outdoor service and potluck dinner. Bring a veggie side to share and lawn chairs and blankets. We will provide the main course, beverages, and dessert.

Torah Study
Join Kol Ami for Torah study at 308 4th Avenue South in Kirkland at 9 am on August 22. Coffee and muffins provided to accompany stimulating Torah discussion with Rabbi Kinberg. 
Summer Hebrew Lab   
Congregation Kol Ami is hosting a summer Hebrew Lab. It is free and open to all who would like to continue their Hebrew progress. Dates are August 20 & 27 from 4 to 5 pm. Email the office with any questions. 
Tot Shabbat
Tot Shabbat will resume on Friday afternoons after the High Holiday season. Look for information in a future Hakol.
Youth Group News   
Youth Group Board Members Needed!
Do you have a teen in 9th through 12th grade looking to engage in a variety of learning, fun, worship, and community service? Then join Kol Ami Temple Youth's Youth Group Board. For more information, please contact the youth group advisor, Sarabeth Levine.

Kol Ami is looking for people with vans or trucks to help us transport our High Holiday food donations to Jewish Family Service. Please contact the office if you can help. 

 

Start saving your used clothing, towels, sheets, rags and other textiles for our clothing drive in October to raise money for the Judy Simon Scholarship Fund. Details will follow in the next month.
