Why should I do a yoga workshop? What is the added value next to yoga classes? This is the question I recently got from one of our most loyal and lovely yogis. And i'm happy to answer it!

First of all Yoga Moves offers workshops with top-notch international teachers. The teachers of your Yoga Moves teachers. Bringing you closer to the source. Like Gibran Gonzalez who is a direct student of and authorised by Pattabhi Jois and Sharath. He'll offer Ashtanga workshops and 2 weeks of Mysore next month.

The workshops are longer so there is ample time to explain the background, philosophy and asana in more depth.  This gives your more time to experience it yourself and letting it sink in.

Finally a workshop is like a mini-retreat. Time for yourself to open up, reconsider your habitual tendencies, absorb new knowledge and experience something new.

Don't wait till you can touch your toes, to feel you can dive deeper. Yoga Moves offers workshops for beginners too. Beginner ashtangis are more than welcome in the Intro to Bandha & Led Primary Workshop with Gibran.

Early Mornings Mysore
two weeks Mon - Fri
5 - 16 September

Ashtanga yoga was traditionally only taught as a self-practice. You start simple, breath-by-breath and posture-by-posture. This makes it a perfect practice for a beginner as well as for a more experienced yogi. Moving at your own rhythm and pace allows you to develop an individual practice that fits your specific needs.

Layers of Breath, Bandhas and Drishti & Led Primary
Sunday 11 September

Learn how the 3 main elements of Ashtanga play an important part in your physical practice and how they both stimulate and relax the body during your practice. Without the breath, there is no yoga practice, asana practice without focus on the breath becomes just a generic workout.
