VOICE YOUR SUPPORT! Flood Bill Up For Vote In U.S. House Tonight
Dear Big "I" Member:
The U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled as early as 6:30 p.m. EST tonight to consider H.R. 3370, a bill that balances insurance accessibility and solvency with consumer affordability by:
- Reinstating grandfathering
- Removing the home sale rate increase trigger
- Refunding excess premium charges
- Lowering rate increases
ACTION NEEDED:
Please call your Nebraska Congressman TODAY and urge him to vote in favor of H.R. 3370. The vote could be very close, because the bill is being considered under "suspension of the rules" and a 2/3 majority is needed to pass it. Direct calls are more effective than e-mails or faxes in this situation. Feel free to send this Action Alert to your co-workers and clients, and ask them to call to express their support!
Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (202) 224-3121 Rep. Adrian Smith (202) 225-6435
Rep. Lee Terry (202) 225-4155

-
H.R. 3370 helps mitigate the rate shock caused by certain provisions of Biggert-Waters.
- H.R. 3370 reinstates grandfathering and prevents a simple real estate transaction from causing dramatic flood insurance premium increases, and
- H.R. 3370 maintains a transition to actuarial rates for many properties, is fully paid for, and is revenue neutral.
