Hey Ladies! A friend watched the last video and asked me if I was having some health issues. It seems that when I record these videos and you get them that I sound as if I have a speech problem. WOW! GREAT! LOL! Well, I don't have a speech problem (that I know of) - the technology is just not cooperating. So when I see you in Orlando - you won't be trying to figure out if I am slurring my words.
Take a a look at Kristi's thoughts - she is like so many of us. She works everyday as a pastor's wife. Her one desire is to bring glory to her God and to be a help to her husband.
Please note the events coming in the next few weeks. The Pastor's Wives Session of the Southern Baptist Convention and then let's not forget the Minister's Wives Luncheon - both of them at The Southern Baptist Convention held in Orlando, Florida in June.
As always, I am praying for you! Diane

Renew! by Kristi W. Cook After seeking God's guidance, Renew became the vision for the women's ministry in my church, partly because we need to be revived through Christ, refreshed and rejuvenated, partly because some women need to just start over as we restore our spiritual walk. All of us, however, need to Renew ourselves daily. It is God's desire, and a desire I hold very close to my own heart, to see women grow in their relationship with Him while growing close to one another. We need each other. We need to share our joys and our struggles. God wants us to desire him together, pray together, praise together, laugh together, cry together, and hope together
Spring is such a beautiful time of new life. We are coming out of the dead of Winter into the life of Spring seasonally. Some of you may feel that way personally, emotionally, and spiritually. What a perfect time of the year to renew your walk with Christ. What a perfect time to renew your friendships.
The dictionary and thesaurus describe the word "renew" as follows: To become new again; to restore. To revive. To start over. To impart renewed energy and strength to a person. To rouse from a state of inactivity. To refresh, rejuvenate, continue. A facelift.
Imagine yourself having a spiritual facelift! Couldn't we all use one of those? And the best part of all, they require no surgical means! Just free for the taking by our precious, loving Lord. I close with two beautiful verses. May they refresh and renew you, friend.
"...put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator." (Colossians 3:10)
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:2) Kristi W. Cook is the wife of Dr. Jay Cook, pastor of First Baptist Church , Pascagoula, Mississippi |

Click on the book and comment on how God has used this book in your life. | God never ceases to amaze me. I know what He is capable of, yet am still amazed when He completes puzzles all around me piece by piece. I marvel at His masterpieces, from the simplest to the complex.
My long time best friend's 3-year-old child died in January. Adrianna Kate Cavanagh is at home with Jesus after battling neuroblastoma (a rare childhood cancer) for ten long months. I cannot count the hours I have spent with my friend Stephanie on the phone - which leads me to my book review of Priscilla Shirer's Discerning God's Voice: How to Recognize When God Speaks.
The very week I began leading this study was the week Adrianna passed. If ever there was a time that I needed to hear God's voice, it was then! The opening day of Shirer's study focused on Habakkuk 3:17-18, "Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior." It was right after I typed that verse for Stephanie in an email and clicked send that she called me with the news. Thinking Adrianna was in remission, the doctors found the cancer had so aggressively returned, she only had days to live.
Continuing to lead Shirer's study, I watched the ladies in our group grow spiritually over such a short period of time. I watched myself grow, being reminded that the more intimate we are with God, the clearer His voice will be.
This study is one of the most practical (for lack of a better word) studies I have ever lead a group through. Shirer is honest, wise and real. God handpicked this study for me to lead during such a difficult time. You see, He knew I could not help my friend discern His voice without first making sure I knew how to discern His voice myself.
