Jimmie Davis has faithfully served her Lord along side her main squeeze, Sam, for the last 27 years of ministry.  They are still as relevant and strong today as they were when they started.   Whether you see her at Stein Mart, church, or at home, she is a consistent example of what a Christian and a Godly wife should be.

Mrs. Jimmie is the Director of Girls' Ministry at First Baptist Spartanburg (Spartanburg, S.C.)

She is the author of:

Virtual You

We bless you Mrs. Jimmie for being a visionary in reaching and discipling young girls for Christ.  We pray blessings on you for your faithfulness to your family and to your God.  We honor you and are grateful for your example of Godliness throughout the years and today!  We bless you for cultivating faithfulness wherever our Lord has placed you. Psalm 37:1-4

May our God continue to show you favor as He delights in ordering your steps. Psalm 37:23

Book Review
God's Woman Cover
 When God's Woman Wants to Give Up!, written by Diane Nix, is a practical life application must-read for all women.  Experiencing many trials in her own life Nix walks women through Job's life focusing on the personal trials Job's wife faced.  A poignant factor in this book is Nix's underlying theme of how a woman of God can keep her life in balance.  Nix covers topics such as the importance of godly friendships, knowing God as your "daddy," and when life seems unfair.  A very light bulb defining checklist is provided for practical use of living in balance.
    As a pastor's wife myself, I was deeply touched with Diane Nix's honesty on trials and hardships faced being a minister's wife.  Many of the difficulties and hardships covered in Nix's book are not isolated to Nix alone.  Ministry wives must face these very same trials every day.  I find it comforting to dwell in the honesty on her pages.
    If I could easily sum it up for you, I would simply say that "When God's Woman Wants to Give Up!" should be a required handbook and guide for all ministry wives!  Read it and be inspired to face your trials head on with God not only by your side but leading you to the blessing on the other side.

We have a House!

We wanted you to know the exciting news!  We have been given a house to provide a place of refuge for minister's wives!  There are still quite a bit of legal details to work out.

The house needs to be painted, a new roof, and some special interior decorating.  The primary vision is to create a place of quiet refuge for a Minister's Wife that needs to get away and have some rest, reflection, restoration, recuperation and retreat.  The further vision is that this place will be FREE to all Minister's Wives!  You heard it - FREE!

We are in the process of creating a board of directors.  We will need some money - of course - don't we always need some money!  God willing, it will all come together.

The house is located in Northern Louisiana.  It sets on an island jutting out over a lake.  The sun literally rises and sets over the house.  This means that you get a view of the sunrise and the beautiful sunset.

We would love for you help us dream about this house.  Click on the link and post your ideas and thoughts concerning a house designed and planned with a Minister's Wife in mind.

Would you please pray with us as we proceed in the legalities of all of this?  Do you know a church who would be willing to invest in this ministry?  Do you know of a church would could send a team to put on a new roof, paint an interior or help do some landscaping?  Do you have a Women's Ministry with women who love to dabble in interior decorating?  We are going to need every single one of you!

We will keep you informed of the progress.  If you are led of the Lord to invest in this ministry please click on the link and fill out the contact form.  We will be glad to speak with you!

Call Back
Anita

It inspires me to read devotionals or biographies of "those who've gone before us."  I discovered a poem that expresses why their faithfulness bless me. Maybe you will identify with its words as well:

Call Back

If you have gone a little way ahead of me - call back - - -
'Twill cheer my heart and help my feet along the stony track;
and if, perchance, Faith's light is dim, because the oil is low,
Your call will guide my lagging course as wearily I go.
Call back, and tell me that He went with you into the storm;
Call back, and say He kept you when the forest's roots were torn;
That, when the heavens thunder, and earthquakes shake the hill
He strengthened you, and held you, and the air was still.
Oh friend, call back
Tell me, for I cannot see your face;
They say it glows with triumph, and your feet stay in the race -
But
There seem to be mists between us; my "spirit-eyes" are dim,
And I cannot see the glory, though I long for word of Him.
But, if you say He heard YOU when your prayer was a cry,
And if you say He saw you through the dark nights sky - - -
If YOU have gone a little way ahead,
Oh friend - - - - Call Back - - -
It will cheer my heart, and help my feet along this stony path.
From the book, Streams in the Desert, a devotional for December 19. 1925 edition.

This poem expresses reasons CF4H exists, as it expresses the longing of one on the ministry journey of life, seeking a safe place to ask questions. It expresses one whose heart screams for encouragement, or who seeks a nudge to just keep on - keeping on. Voices in our heads seek a kind word saying, "It will be ok", "I know it's hard, but don't give up", or "You may feel alone, but you really are not."

In days before email, and twitter, or MagicJack and Skype, ministry wives often lived in isolation wondering who to trust, and just where to go with seemingly silly questions.  Now we have a place! Just maybe they learned about going to God in a way that would encourage us today. Ladies, CJ4H needs your input.

I always look for people who have walked before me, or even those who walk alongside me. I find courage in their example that renews my dedication to God. There are people living in our memory, whose faith-life encourages us still. We remember their examples and stand a little taller.

Each of us walk with our own strange feet, as described in Habakkuk 3:19. Following God requires feet designed to walk on our high places; the places that would be unsafe for any other person; that place God asks us to walk today. We can be assured that He directs our path and uniquely designs our equipment [like hinds feet just for us]. Our path is where we find our voice, and we call back saying, "He went with me in the storms, He strengthened me, and held me, and hears me when I pray." And my sweet sister in ministry, He will cheer you too!

Anita's ministry is Blessed for Purpose, Ps 67:7. An eye-witness to miraculous prayer, she was with her husband as he prayed for Don Piper on the Texas bridge. She is active in women's ministry, and has a particular passion for widows of ministers.
