Thank you, Presidential Bank!
We've met your challenge!

Our friends and supporters are incomparable! Again, you've helped us more than meet a challenge--in this case, Presidential Bank's matching grant of $20,000 for the Old School if we could raise $20,000 by March 31. We not only made the goal, we exceeded it by more than $6,000. Thanks to Presidential Bank and those listed below, we made a grand total of $46,160!

Every dollar of these donations will go to reduce the remaining debt on the reconstruction of the historic Waterford Old School and its beautiful new auditorium--full again with classical music and blue grass songs, community picnics, weddings, parties, classes, book talks, wine tastings, and the incomparable Waterford Fair.

Thank you to Bruce Cleveland, Presidential Bank, and all those who helped us meet another challenge to preserve historic Waterford.

Annual Meeting is Waterford Foundation's 70th birthday party

The year 2013 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Waterford Foundation, and we invite you to join us for a slice of cake at our annual meeting celebration April 16 at 7 p.m.

We'll honor those who've made outstanding contributions to WFI Sealthe Foundation, recognize some special attendees, share a newly discovered historic document, elect new officers and board members, recognize the service of departing ones, and enjoy refreshments in our beautiful Old School.

We hope to see you on the 16th!

School House rocks again

SPRING FARM TOUR
Waterford Farm & Village Days
Ad for Mill 1903
An ad from 1903 offers Mill products for man and beast.

During Loudoun's Spring Farm Tour May 18 and 19 the Waterford Foundation opens its doors and open spaces for visitors to enjoy, in the town that once was the bustling center of Loudoun's agricultural prosperity.

On this spring weekend a blacksmith will once again forge iron into horseshoes on the street, and a beekeeper will be at work  as beekeepers historically have been on surrounding farms. Docents will lead tours describing the village's agricultural history, and the commercial and cultural buildings that are part of that history--the Mill, the "Chair Manufactory," the Forge, the Corner Store, and the one-room Second Street School will be open for visitors.

Locally made furniture will be on exhibit at the Chair Factory on Second Street, and the Corner Store will also be open for business.

On the Phillips Farm, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about stream monitoring  and take a walk on the mile-long interpretive trail.

We'll provide a complete schedule of events closer to the event.
