War Eagle from the Atlanta Auburn Club!

Greetings!

Tens of thousands of Tigers are headed to Auburn this weekend for the annual A-Day game, and a final goodbye to our beloved Toomer's Oaks. As of late Wednesday, the weekend weather on the Plains called for rain on Friday, and sunny skies on Saturday with a high of 70, low of 47.

The Spring scrimmage and the Toomer's Corner event are two of several taking place in Auburn this weekend.  For more information on all them, be sure to click this link.

For those NOT able to be in Auburn this weekend:

Around 6:30p ET/ 5:30p CT on Saturday, you will be able to watch the final rolling of the Toomer's trees from two cameras at different angles.  Go here and click the camera link:

http://www.auburn.edu/communications_marketing/oaks/index.html

If you cannot access that link, there is an additional Live Stream from Toomer's at this link too --- and here is the link for the City of Auburn's webcam Live Stream

CSS sent us a Tweet this afternoon, saying that they have a special on Toomer's Corner that is airing on SEC Tonight at 7pm ET --- that's this evening, so be sure to check that out or set your DVR.

Here is what the scene at Toomer's looked like just before 2pm today:

We have more on the A-Day game and Toomer's commemorations below.  You can also find information about our two big annual scholarship fundraisers: Coach Malzahn on May 14, and our golf tournament on June 24.

Here's your interesting read for the day: al.com has a story asking readers, "Are you a Plain Auburn fan or a Plains Auburn fan?"  Here's the link

Don't forget:  Through May 1, you can see the Titanic or Bodies exhibitions at Atlantic Station with an Atlanta Auburn Club exclusive ---->20% discount on tickets. Click this link for coupon

A-Day Game & Final Roll of Poisoned Toomer's Trees
Big day of events in Auburn on Saturday, April 20

Auburn's A-Day game is Saturday, with kickoff in Jordan-Hare set for 1pm CT (2pm ET),  The game will be televised by CSS. Tickets for the game are $5 and available now at AuburnTigers.com. All seats at Jordan-Hare Stadium are general admission. Ten minutes after the game, there will be an Autograph session on the field that will last about 45 minutes.
header As of Wednesday, Auburn has sold approximately 28,000 tickets for A-Day. Most Auburn fans purchase tickets on the day of the game, increasing the possibility the school may break its attendance record for a spring game. Auburn officials said last week the school set a sales record for A-Day tickets purchased through its website.

Auburn's A-Day attendance record of 63,217 was set in 2010. Auburn drew 43,427 fans to A-Day in 2012 to see the game and the unveiling of Heisman Trophy statues for Pat Sullivan, Bo Jackson and Cam Newton.

Special Commemoration for Toomer's Oaks Follows A-Day Game

image Auburn University and the city of Auburn are partnering for a "Celebrate the Tradition" block party that includes a spirit rally, a final rolling of our beloved Toomers oaks, and live music (Kidd Blue), from 5pm until about  8:30pm at Toomers Corner.

This will be the final opportunity for Auburn fans to visit, roll and photograph our beloved oaks before the poisoned trees are removed. A new landscaping plan for the corner is already in progress and that design will be unveiled on April 20.  The trees are to be removed on April 23.

Auburn University is expecting a large turnout on Saturday. There are reports that hotels in the area are sold out.

We have been asked to pass along to everyone that authentic tree merchandise will have a special hang tag, and all royalties from the tree program will support student scholarships. NO products will be made from the actual trees prior to their removal!  So, please be vigilant! If an item doesn't have this special hang tag, it is not an authentic Auburn Oaks product.

This is what the hang tags will look like:image
