Exclusive AAC Donor Event with Auburn Coach Gus Malzahn
Scholarship Fundraising Meet & Greet at STATS on Tuesday, May 14, 2013
Auburn Head Football Coach Gus Malzahn is coming to Atlanta in May for a smaller, very limited-attendance event with the Atlanta Auburn Club.
It will be your opportunity for some one-on-one with coach, an autograph, and to hear his perspective on the 2013 Auburn Tigers football team, as we look ahead to the Fall season following A-Day and the Spring practices. This will be Coach Malzahn's only scheduled appearance in Atlanta, so don't miss out!
The primary focus of this exclusive meet & greet is to raise money for the Atlanta Auburn Club's 501(c)(3) Roy B. Sewell Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc., which has entered into a long-term commitment to build the Atlanta Auburn Club Scholarship Endowment at Auburn University, while still providing annual scholarships. With the ever-increasing cost of out-of-state tuition at Auburn, we want to make a real difference for students from the Atlanta metro area, but we can only do it with your support. A-Day Game & Final Roll of Poisoned Toomer's Trees
Big day of events in Auburn on Saturday, April 20
Auburn's A-Day game is set for Saturday, April 20th. Kickoff in Jordan-Hare is 1pm CT (2pm ET) and it will be televised by CSS. Tickets for the game are $5 and available now at AuburnTigers.com. All seats at Jordan-Hare Stadium are general admission. Auburn drew 43,427 fans to A-Day in 2012 to see the game and the unveiling of Heisman Trophy statues for Pat Sullivan, Bo Jackson and Cam Newton. This year's game will be the first under the direction of new Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn. Ten minutes after the game, there will be an Autograph session on the field that will last about 45 minutes. For more information on all the A-Day Weekend events in Auburn, click this link
******** Special Commemoration for Toomer's Oaks Follows A-Day Game Auburn University and the city of Auburn are partnering for a "Celebrate the Tradition" block party that includes a spirit rally, a final rolling of our beloved Toomers oaks, and live music (Kidd Blue), from 5pm until about 8:30pm at Toomers Corner.
This will be the final opportunity for Auburn fans to visit, roll and photograph our beloved oaks before the poisoned trees are removed. A new landscaping plan for the corner is already in progress and that design will be unveiled on April 20. Auburn University is expecting a large turnout for this full day of events. So plan appropriately! We have been asked to pass along to everyone that authentic tree merchandise will have a special hang tag, and all royalties from the tree program will support student scholarships. NO products will be made from the actual trees prior to their removal! So, please be vigilant! If an item doesn't have this special hang tag, it is not an authentic Auburn Oaks product. This is what the hang tags will look like: Fans can visit www.auburn.edu/oaks to see product and retail partners.
