A-Day Game & Final Roll of Poisoned Toomer's Trees
Big day of events in Auburn on Saturday, April 20
Auburn's A-Day game is set for Saturday, April 20th. Kickoff in Jordan-Hare is 1pm CT (2pm ET) and it will be televised by CSS. Tickets for the game are $5 and available now at AuburnTigers.com. All seats at Jordan-Hare Stadium are general admission.
Auburn drew 43,427 fans to A-Day in 2012 to see the game and the unveiling of Heisman Trophy statues for Pat Sullivan, Bo Jackson and Cam Newton. This year's game will be the first under the direction of new Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn.
A-Day will cap off Auburn's spring practices, scheduled to start on March 27. ******** Block Party for Toomer's Oaks Follows A-Day Game Auburn University and the city of Auburn will partner on a block party at Toomer's Corner on Saturday, April 20. The event will be held after the A-Day football game and will give fans one final opportunity to roll and photograph our beloved oaks before the poisoned trees are removed. The exact date of the trees' removal has not been set, but a new landscaping plan for the corner is already in progress. The future design will be unveiled on April 20.
The War Eagle Reader blog reported recently that ESPN has contacted Auburn University about covering the final Toomer's Oaks rolling event. But Auburn University Communications Director Mike Clardy was quoted saying he is "not sure yet the extent of their plans." The Toomer's Oaks event will begin at 5pm CT. Possible speakers are reported to include Auburn University president Jay Gogue, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn and Auburn Mayor Bill Ham. A "spirit rally" with cheerleaders and pep band would follow, along with a final rolling of the trees at 5:30pm. Local band Kidd Blue is also set to perform.
Auburn University is expecting a large turnout for this day of events.

This game will mark the 100th observance of Homecoming at Auburn, and the 87th Homecoming football game. Homecoming festivities were held in connection with theSpring commencement exercises until 1924. Auburn beat Clemson, 13-0, in Auburn's first Homecoming game.
