We give thanks for the life of Rev. Carl B. Reichert. Carl entered life eternal on Thursday, August 6 at the age of 88.
Carl was a 1949 graduate of Capital University in Columbus Ohio and he received a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary in Trinity, Ohio in 1953. He served as a pastor in Canada, Ohio and New York. In 1975 he began a series of Interim Pastorates in Western New York, Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio until December of 2014, celebrating more than 62 years in ministry. He was also involved in counseling, conference committees, campus and nursing home ministries.
Carl was recently honored for his 50 years of membership in the National Railroad Historical Society. He was a train enthusiast and spent many hours touring and photographing steam engines and trollies. He also enjoyed classical music and was fascinated by pipe organs.
Carl was predeceased by his wife, Dolores in 2011 and is survived by daughters, Carol (Brian) Yaiser, Ellen (James) Goff, Dr. Jan Reichert (Gary Simpson), son David (Maria) Reichert, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Michelle (Schuler) Bewley.
Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 14th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4809 S. Newstead Road, Akron, NY and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 9:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church.
