LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
|
|
Dear Parents:
As the saying goes, "time flies" and indeed it does with our first quarter now completed; I believe that we have had a good beginning to the school year. While the introduction of our tablet program was not without its challenges, the program is quickly becoming part of our campus life and an integral part of the learning experience. I appreciate all of you who either came to our parent info night on the tablet (or watched it via streaming). A video of the presentation can be found by clicking here. I know that the Ed Tech Department will continue to provide you opportunities to learn about the program. The Tech Center in the library has a great track record to date of taking care of the students who come in with tablet questions or problems. While I know there will always be issues that come up, I am encouraged at the rollout and implementation of the program.
With regard to the tablet program, sometime in the next couple of weeks you will be receiving a survey, the results of which will help us gauge the progress and challenges of the program. There will be three different surveys; one for our parents, one for the students and the third for our faculty. It is important that we receive a good response from all three groups so when you do receive your survey I would appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us.
On behalf of SMCHS, a big thank you to all who came/supported Blue and Gold last Saturday night. It was a fantastic success and a wonderful community building event!
Finally, I want to thank all the parents who joined us for our St. Margaret Mary Mass last week. The Campus Ministry staff and our Peer Ministers did a great job of designing a Mass that honored our patroness, our Junior Class and provided a venue for the installation of Andy Sulick as our President. We are so fortunate to have St. Margaret Mary as our patroness with her love for our Lord through His Sacred Heart. That devotion goes to the 'heart' of our school's charism.
As we move into second quarter my hope is that each and every day truly is a Great Day to be an EAGLE!
Caritas Christi,
Ray Dunne
Principal
