Registration will begin at 7 a.m. and the race at 8:15 a.m. A "Future Eagle"  fun run for those under 10 begins at 8:45 a.m. Races will be followed by a pancake breakfast with vendors, music, prizes and opportunity prizes, so come join us!

Don't run or can't make it? You can still support the event by attending the pancake breakfast, purchasing a t-shirt or making a gift.  Click here for the online store and registration. The run is a chance for all Eagle runners, past, present, and future; our neighbors, friends and families to come together for a wonderful cause - to celebrate our past Eagle runner and to honor her by continuing to build the Sarah DeMille Memorial  Scholarship Fund.  The scholarship was set up in remembrance of Sarah Ashley DeMille, a class of 2005 lady runner. Sarah was killed in an automobile accident while attending Northern Arizona University.
BLUE AND GOLD GIFT GATHERING FIESTA
The Blue and Gold Committee would like to thank all those who attended and supported the very successful Gift Gathering "Fiesta" Party held last Friday night, July 11th.  The "Fiesta" supported the upcoming "Evening Under the Stars" event, SM's signature fundraiser that will be held October 18th in our very own Moiso Family Pavilion.

Guests donated amazing auction items for the fundraiser, provided generous underwriting support and enjoyed wonderful food and drinks.  We would especially like to thank the Gift Gathering Chairs, Collette Montgomery and Charlene Palmer, and the Palmer family for hosting this fabulous "Fiesta!"

Auction items, sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are still needed!  Please see the Blue and Gold website or contact the Development Office at (949) 766-6080 or blueandgold@smhs.org for more information.  And.....stay tuned for further ticket information to what is sure to be an incredible Evening Under the Stars! Click here  to view photos and a list of those who graciously supported the event and, in turn, our students!

ATHLETIC NEWS

SMCHS Gets Surprise Visit from a Member of the Class of 2008

The boys and girls SMCHS basketball programs recently received a surprise visit from the Class of 2008 when Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson stopped by to talk to the student-athletes.  Thompson was a vital member of the 2008 California State Championship team. Thompson stopped by to talk to the Lady Eagle Youth Basketball Camp and the boys' basketball program. After fielding a number of questions, posing for photos and signing autographs, Thompson shot around with the team including putting together a run of nine straight three pointers.

Thompson, a 6'7" guard for the Warriors, was a first round draft pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and was the 11th overall pick out of Washington State. He entered the 2013-2014 season with an average of 14.8 points in 148 total games, 111 of which were starts. He earned first team All-Rookie honors in the 2011-12 season and already ranks 10th all-time in Warriors history with 322 three-pointers and seventh in team history in three-point field goal percentage (.406).
