5 Aug 15: 6th Annual Conference

Likely you have already received a notification from us concerning the 6th Annual Light Green Machine Annual Conference.  However, I wanted to take our column time this week and emphasize what will be coming up.

First, you can get the full conference information here.

The conference will start with a reception the evening of October 20th and will go until about 3 pm on the 22nd.  This will be at the Dreyfus Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, the heart of papermaking country.

We have a full slate of outstanding speakers, covering the gamut from effluent to papermachines and everything in between.

Of special note:

Domtar will be making a presentation on their natural gas conversion at Neenah, Wisconsin.

Greenpac will be making a presentation on implementing high performance work teams at their new mill in Niagara Falls, New York.

Voith will be discussing their move into steel dryers

We will honor Dave Bennett as our first LGMI Fellow.

And the keynote will be by Phil Harris, a well known retired executive from our industry (yes, that Phil Harris).

There are many other great presentations in the lineup. You will certainly want to attend.

And don't forget, half the registration fee will go to the Stevens Point Foundation Scholarship Fund to support future pulp and paper makers.

That site again is here.
