5 Nov 14: A lot to think about
LGMI R

Coming out of last week's LGMI Conference, my (Jim's) head is spinning.  I thought we were approaching at least an asymptotic plateau to our our current efforts, but our speakers left me speechless.

From stock prep to headbox to liquor loops and beyond, there are so many good ideas out there, it is hard to know where to start.

On top of this, changes are coming in the way we think about performance (packaging) papers and paperboards.  Smurfit Kappa, for instance, in their European mills, is introducing an entirely new way to think about container performance, at least for the commercial market (the principles they are following have been in the labs for some time).

So, look for some new ideas and an effort to expound and embellish the ideas we have already promulgated.

And if you have something you want us to explore, drop a line to either Brian or myself and we will add it to the "to do" list.
