Bringing up the old topic of steel dryer cans last week brought out some comments, so we thought we would continue with this a bit longer.
One comment was this:
"IPPEL in Brazil has made steel dryers for paper machines for decades... Sadly, this technological "innovation", which, if Tosco's claims for 30% higher drying efficiency are even half valid - has never reached N. America... This is no thanks to the largest boiler and machinery insurance companies doing absolutely nothing to incentivize this FAR SAFER technology in the industry, instead of dutifully documenting the massive damage created when gray iron dryers explode (often in multiples), with several deaths over the past 30 years (but clearly not enough!)...."
We have heard this before. Insurance companies, what is your response?
and we also received this:
"Dear all,
I would like to inform you that DE IULIIS C&A spa - Italy since 1997 manufactures and supplies Steel dryer cans...

Anything else on the steel dryer can subject at this time? We would be delighted to hear more, especially from the insurance industry.
