6 Nov 13: Next Generation Predictive Analytics

Perhaps you have used analytical tools such as the SAS products. Likely you have been subjected to an implementation of SAP or other such enterprise software systems.
Strap on your seat belts. The next big thing, we predict, is live "Predictive Analysis." When it starts, it will be at the enterprise level. It will work like this: by analyzing past order patterns, it will place orders in your systems that have not yet been placed by the customer yet. It will arrange for the delivery of raw materials just in time for these orders. The objective will be faster response time and ever smaller inventories of everything. A good example of a tool, but not the only tool, to available for this is "RapidMiner."
Right behind this will be coming technical tools to take predictive maintenance to the next level. These tools will help you plan for shutdowns months away and also help control your stores inventory..
All of this, of course, will not be without weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. But it is coming--educate yourself and get ready.

>Conference fee is not a factor. I look for description of content relevant to my specialty
>Amount depends on theme or subject of conference
>I will pay what I think a conference is worth either to me or to my client. That is variable of course. I also will look at the fee in regards to the total cost. If this conference was for the converting industry and held in Atlanta $300 would not matter. If I knew there were real decision makers and I could have real face time quite a bit more would be okay.
>Realistic number is $300 per day for a reasonable return to the sponsoring organization
