Kitsap Connected  recognized for creativity

John Powers with Lynn Longan, ADO Resource & Communications Manager

in marketing!

May 9, 2013 - The Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA) was recognized for creative marketing by the Washington Department of Commerce on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Associate Development Organization (ADO) semi-annual meeting in Tacoma.

KEDA received the Excellence in Economic Development "Coloring Outside the Lines" award for overall creativity in marketing traditionally and/or online for their Kitsap Connected multi-media campaign. The project features a family of videos that use evocative imagery and unscripted conversations to tell the Kitsap Story and promote economic development opportunities throughout Kitsap County and across the Greater Puget Sound Region.

KEDA Executive Director, John Powers, who accepted the award credits the extraordinary leadership and vision shown by project sponsors; Puget Sound Energy; Suquamish Tribe/ Port Madison Enterprises; The Doctors Clinic; Kitsap Credit Union; Harrison Medical Center; West Sound Workforce; Kitsap Bank, and  Applied Technical Systems, ATS.

Powers also praised the outstanding creative work, technical expertise and dedication of Hal Calbom and Brett Renville of Sustainable Media Group for bringing the project to life. He also thanked Applied Technical Systems and CGR Consulting for designing and launching kitsapconnected.org.

Kitsap Connected Work+Life debuted just over 3 months ago at KEDA's January 29th Decision Makers Breakfast and has been enthusiastically received by the community. According to Powers, "The videos are educating community leaders about the composition, competitiveness, character and role of our region, which increases their personal effectiveness. They provide the business community with a powerful marketing tool from which to attract capital - both financial and human - to continue building Kitsap's role in the region."

KEDA encourages Kitsap businesses and partner organizations to continue tweeting, sharing, and liking www.kitsapconnected.org to help tell the Kitsap Story!
