Take Note ...
> Job Sector Survey
The Job Sector Survey link in this email is being disseminated to businesses, organizations, and agencies throughout The Central Puget Sound Region (Kitsap, Pierce, King and Snohomish Counties). We urge you to take a few minutes to fill out the 2012 Job Sector Survey online so that we may have the information we need to effectively assist you in identifying, developing and serving your strategic workforce needs.
The data gleaned from this Survey will help those involved in business, education and workforce development, like KEDA, OC and the Olympic Consortium to make better informed decisions as we work together for the benefit of our Kitsap employers and overall community. For example, question #12 addresses the training and education you need your employees to obtain to make them more hirable and/or promotable - and will provide guidance to OC as they continue to expand their degree and certificate offerings. Survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/job_sector_survey2012
We thank you in advance for taking time from your busy schedule to complete the survey. (And we wish you luck as all survey completers will have their names entered into a drawing for two Southwest Airlines Green LUV tickets).
> DoD SBIR 2013 Solicitations -- During the pre-release period (ending December 17, 2012), you may talk directly with the Topic Authors to ask technical questions about the topics. Their names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses are listed within each solicitation topic. For reasons of competitive fairness, direct communication between proposers and topic authors is not allowed when DoD begins accepting proposals for each solicitation. However, proposers may still submit written questions about solicitation topics through the SBIR/STTR Interactive Topic Information System (SITIS), in which the questioner and respondent remain anonymous and all questions and answers are posted electronically for general viewing until the solicitation closes. All proposers are advised to monitor SITIS during the solicitation period for questions and answers, and other significant information, relevant to the SBIR/STTR topic under which they are proposing. > Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications (ORCA) have been replaced by a new system called System for Award Management (SAM), managed by the General Services Administration (GSA). With SAM, one user ID and password will provide access to all the capabilities associated with: - registering to do business with the government
- representing/self-certifying as a small business
- viewing business opportunities
SAM went live on July 29. For firms with active profiles, your data was automatically migrated from CCR, and we suggest waiting until technical issues are resolved to create your SAM user account and entity registration. If you need to update an expired profile or are new to government contracting and need to register your company in order to be eligible for an award and need assistance, please contact your PTAC counselor. > Be sure to check our online calendar for other events and workshops that may be beneficial to your bottom line! |
