Your Donation Will Save the Lives of Homeless Pets in New York City

The TCS New York City Marathon is coming up this weekend, and our Miles For Paws marathoners are training hard for the big race! You can help our runners achieve their personal best on Sunday, November 2, by supporting them with your donation. Remember, when you pledge support for our team, you're also helping to save lives by supporting the programs of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.

Meet Our 2014 Marathoners...

Meet the runners who are saving the lives of NYC's animals by running for Miles For Paws in this year's TCS New York City Marathon!

Neel Khichi

Neel Khichi is running his first marathon, alongside his brother-in-law (an 8-time marathoner!). "My wife and I have two adopted dogs and two adopted cats in our household. And though we cannot save every single homeless dog and cat in the world, Miles For Paws is a step in the direction to possibly do just that."

Ines Lopes

Ines Lopes is running for Miles For Paws because, "this opportunity to run the NYC marathon and help an organization like the Mayor's Alliance, whose mission closely aligns with mine, is a dream. On November 2, 2014, the direction and purpose are so very clear. Please consider supporting the Mayor's Alliance and me! See you at the finish line!"

Yinglee Wong

Yinglee Wong is supporting the Mayor's Alliance because "I love animals ---- dogs, cats, reptiles, etc., and I know not every animal finds his or her fur-ever home, but if we can increase awareness, then hopefully more animals will be saved and live healthy lives. I will proudly wear my Miles For Paws shirt on marathon day to support the littlest New Yorkers."

Ian Crouch

Ian Crouch has been training all summer, and along the way has been thinking about the great work that the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals does to find great homes for the cats and dogs of New York. "I want to thank all the generous people who have donated, and if anyone else can spare a little, I'd really appreciate it, and the animals would, too."

Wendy Frink

Wendy Frink says she's "running my first marathon for the animals! Many of you know how much I love dogs and cats, and I couldn't think of a better cause to raise money for. The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals helps over 150 rescues and shelters in NYC with supportive resources, adoption events, training, and much more. I volunteer weekly at Animal Haven, one of the shelters that is helped by the Mayor's Alliance and every week I talk myself out of bringing home a new pet. Curly Tail Pug Rescue is also a member of the organization. Hamilton Pug will be my coach throughout my training. He's tough, but he knows his stuff."

Lan Lam

Lan Lam is running her first full marathon on behalf of NYC's shelter animals, and says "if I could, I would own every homeless pet in sight... I've decided it would be better to support the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals through Miles For Paws. Please donate whatever you can to support animals that are in need."

Petrina Byrne

Petrina Byrne joined Team Miles For Paws "in memory of my cat Mr. Scrow and my fiance's dog Lacey, who both passed away a few months ago. I wanted to help raise some support for animals who aren't lucky enough to have loving homes. Animals bring so much joy into our hearts; they deserve a little in return!!"
