We'd like to introduce you to Max and Pudding. Max, a handsome and extremely friendly cat, is ready to win your heart (if you give him the chance!). Pudding is a gentle and loving 8-month-old Staffie mix who entered Animal Care & Control of NYC as a stray. She's currently in foster care and is searching for her forever home.
What do Max and Pudding have in common?
They are just two of the hundreds of adoptable animals who will make their way down to Union Square this weekend for our annual Adoptapalooza mega-adoption event, sponsored by the Petco Foundation.
Our adoption events, including Sunday's Adoptapalooza, play a critical role in facilitating thousands of life-saving adoptions each year.
Our community collaboration of 150+ Alliance Participating Organizations (APOs) resulted in more than 30,000 adoptions, transfers, and return-to-owners in 2013 alone and the Alliance's mega-adoption events are an important component of this success. In addition to raising public awareness around the life-saving importance of pet adoption, our mega-adoption events are an opportunity to promote responsible pet ownership in New York City by offering low-cost microchipping, dog-licensing, and other pertinent services.
Hosting mega-adoption events is a major focus of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, as these events directly impact our mission to transform New York City into a no-kill community, where no dogs or cats of reasonable health or temperament are killed simply because they do not have homes.
If you are not able to adopt or foster yourself, you can still make a really big difference in the lives of NYC's shelter animals.
Please consider making a one-time donation to the Alliance on behalf of our life-saving mega-adoption events.
And with your support, Max and Pudding (and thousands of their friends!) will head home to forever families this year.

We hope to see you on Sunday in Union Square Park at Adoptapalooza!
Sincerely,

Francesca Carson, Director of Development
