Valued City Residents, Merchants, Business Owners, Neighbors and Visitors:
Haines City wishes you a Happy and Safe Halloween; if you are planning to enjoy the Halloween festivities please be cognizant of your surroundings and only "Trick-Or-Treat," in areas that you and your family are familiar with.
Please look for well-lit areas to Treat-Or-Treat, and please be vigilant. Most communities encourage Trick-Or-Treating between the hours of 3 PM - 7 PM, even though our City does not have a law on this item it's certainly a good idea to follow those recommendations.
Lastly, parents please make sure your children's costumes are visible and have some type of reflective tape or flashing light: this will only increase their safety and make tonight's evening a memorable one for all. Don't forget the most important aspect: reviewing the candy that is presented to your children before they consume it. Taking these steps will ensure that you, your child, and your family are safe tonight.
Again on behalf of City Employees, Happy Trick-or-Treating, and please be careful.
Respectfully submitted,
Jonathan E. Evans, MPA, MBA, ICMA-CM
