OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER
Jonathan E. Evans, MPA, MBA, ICMA-CM

Dear Residents, Business Owners, Visitors and Colleagues:

The intent of this report is to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude for all those involved in helping me mature as an executive within this organization. The past two years have not been without challenges, but they have prepared me for the obstacles ahead. City Managers are constantly under the proverbial microscope, and we are required to make tough and sometimes unpopular decisions on a daily basis. As an appointed official, I want to take this opportunity to provide a glimpse into the City Manager's evaluation process. This process is very thorough; few individuals ever experience public evaluation, but this process does ensure accountability and transparency.

The City Manager serves at the pleasure of the City Commission and is evaluated annually based on his or her performance. Going one step further, I have requested a 360-degree review of my performance as City Manager. I have attached all the documentation and evaluations administered by the City for the purposes of evaluating the City Manager's performance. During my two-year tenure, I have supported and even embraced the 360-degree review process and its results. The attached documents provide a glimpse into the evaluation process, showcasing that 15 to 16 individuals reviewed the City Manager in 10 different categories, from leadership to policy execution to financial management.

I thank the elected officials, staff, and the public for their support during these challenging yet rewarding times. Our commitment is still resolute, and we are determined to see Haines City prosper and grow into the vibrant and bustling community that we all imagine. We will accomplish these goals through strong ethical leadership, good financial stewardship, and a commitment to responsible growth and economic development. We will work hand-in-hand with our partners to do not what is popular but what right for our community. Again, thank you for your support and your continued involvement in the City. Do not be surprised if you see me walking in your neighborhood, trying to get your input on what it will take to make Haines City the best place to live, work, and play.

Respectfully submitted,

Jonathan E. Evans, MPA, MBA, ICMA-CM
