Building History
This highly anticipated new guide by Kenneth Hafertepe, department chair of museum studies at Baylor University, takes readers through the streets of this once-westernmost German settlement in America, pointing out the log, fachwerk, and stone buildings that show the layers of Texas history on display. Hafertepe lists which buildings are open for tours and which ones have been converted to public use such as museums, stores, or restaurants. READ MORE
Steering Compromise
Since the 1950s, competing interests over the Edwards Aquifer (the water source for over two million people in south central Texas) were at war. UNBRANDED Update
Director/cinematographer Phill Baribeau and Ben Masters
The plan for an epic 3,000 mile ride using wild mustangs adopted from the US Bureau of Land Management was hatched over greasy enchiladas by Aggie Ben Masters and three friends. The ability to take a film crew along to record the journey was launched by a Kickstarter campaign. The realization that the story was bigger than what the film could tell resulted in the runaway hit book.
