New Acquisitions Team
At the end of 2013 we bid a poignant farewell to Dr. Mary Lenn Dixon, our Editor-in-Chief for many years, who was a predominant mentor and editor for an entire generation of both scholars and readers. 

This year, we are excited to we
lcome a new team of acquisition editors led by veteran press editor Shannon Davies. Not only will they continue our tradition of scholarly excellence, but they will expand it to new horizons. We look forward to this new part of the journey in 2014!   
Shannon Davies 
Editor-in-Chief
Louise Lindsey Merrick Editor for the Natural Environment

Shannon Davies manages the nature and natural history publishing program at the press, which includes books in agriculture, conservation, and natural resource science. She has a PhD in American studies and has been an acquiring editor in these fields for more than twenty years.

Jay Dew 
Senior Editor for History and Politics

Jay Dew works closely with authors to develop books on the American West, Texas history, environmental history, and politics and political history. A native Texan and graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas, Jay received the MA and PhD in American history from the University of Oklahoma. After eight years as an editor for the University of Oklahoma Press, he crossed the Red River and came home to join the editorial staff of Texas A&M University Press.
Thom Lemmons 
Acquisitions Editor for Anthropology, Archaeology, and Texas Culture

 

Thom Lemmons acquires books in physical anthropology, archaeology, and Texas culture. From 2005-2013 he served as the managing editor at the Press, and prior to that he was the director of Abilene Christian University Press.
