Greetings!
I hope you'll be intrigued by the concerts and CD release party coming up this spring. Come on out and enjoy the music!

Saxophone Night at the Outpost
Saturday April 7 7pm
The Outpost, 186 1/2 Hampshire St, Cambridge, MA

Performances by Jon Amon, Rebecca Wellons, Anthony Balester, and friends.

Rebecca will play the premiere of my Whisper Solos. I wrote the first part for a live concert in an elevator. That's why the music must be played softly!

Playbook Release Party
Sunday June 17, early evening
Lexington, MA

Playbook is a set of piano pieces that I created with the students of the Pacem Music Studio of Carroll Ann Bottino. I wrote a piece for each student, from beginner to advanced, and the students wrote several too. I've published them with a CD of me playing all the pieces. They are a good introduction to contemporary techniques and harmonies, and the students found them fun to play.Play Book CD cover

Playbook is available for download now in my Spindrift Bandcamp store (pdf of the book and mp3 tracks). I'll have the book and CD in stock soon. The beautifully imaginative and musical cover art is by Sirarpi Heghinian Walzer.

On June 17, we'll be celebrating the release, after the students finish playing their end-of-year concert at Pacem and online too. We'll tweet and post on Facebook and in my Elusive Music blog. For anyone who's not local, plan to join in with your comments or post a recording of yourself performing these pieces. More details coming soon.

Addington-Arnold Duo at the Chromatic Club
Sunday June 3 3pm
College Club, 44 Comm Ave, Boston MA

Ashley Addington and Rachel Arnold will play my new duo for flute and cello in their concert as featured artists of the Chromatic Club. Examinate Variations is one of the pieces funded by my winter Spindrift Commissioning Guild fundraiser.

The historic Chromatic Club has been supporting young musicians in Boston for over 100 years. The concert is at the College Club, the oldest women's college club in the United States. Come and enjoy a Boston concert tradition in a classy venue.

Crowdfunding Update & Local Concerts
I asked for your support for my Spindrift Commissioning Guild project in January. Now I'd like to share a couple of projects I've supported.

Sounds of Stow is raising money at Kickstarter to commission Keane Southard, a fellow Northboro MA native, for a piano concerto. I've played in the orchestra for many years. Check it out!

Sybarite 5, the fabulous string quintet that plays Mozart and Radiohead and everything in between, are recent winners of the Concert Artist Guild competition. I supported their fundraiser last year.
Brahms/Brubeck/Radiohead

They play a very hot concert!

Concord Orchestra Pops invites jazz singer Marlene VerPlanck back to sing a set of Gershwin tunes. She is a real pro!

Sometimes creating music is like carving a sculpture -- improvise, brainstorm, put notes on the page, then remove whatever doesn't belong.

I hope to see you at one these spring concerts. Thank you for your interest and support!

Sincerely,
Pamela Marshall
