Watch Trout in Classroom Live
Thanks to HFF's members and a grant from the Voigt Foundation, we're bringing Trout in the Classroom to Ashton Elementary once again. And this time, you can "virtually" join us with a live video in the trout tank! HFF's own Anne Marie Emery will be a regular in the fifth grade classroom to strengthen science curriculum themes with interactive watershed examples. Students received just over 100 trout eggs on February 7, and the fifth graders have already predicted their eggs will begin hatching today, February 15. You can watch the hatch live by clicking on the link above. Learn more about the program and get regular updates on the trout by liking us on Facebook. Like us on Facebook>>
Ashton Elementary's principal credits last year's Trout in the Classroom program with raising student science test scores by 20 percentage points. Support for the live video is provided by The Voigt Foundation, the Byer's Family Memorial Fund, the Melvoin Family Conservation Fund, Peter Valenti, Ashton Elementary, Idaho Fish and Game, Aqua Vu, and El Genes.

HFF Helps Keep Coffee Pot Gauging Station Going
If you've received correspondence from HFF in the past six months, you know the importance of winter river flows below Island Park Dam. Negotiating and maintaining the highest possible flows for wild fish is a fluid situation. An essential tool in the negotiation process is knowing how much water is flowing into Island Park Reservoir.
This was not always simple, but a partnership between the Henry's Fork Foundation and Fremont-Madison Irrigation District allows us to split the $9,000-plus price tag to maintain the USGS flow gauge at Coffee Pot, just upstream of the Island Park Reservoir. The financial support of members like you make it possible for HFF to meet its obligation each year, and ensure we have the information we need to secure river flows for young trout when they need it most. Video Highlights the Henry's Fork
Director Andrew Quinn visited the Henry's Fork to examine how the geographic landscape that defines a river also defines a people. The resulting video, "Watershed: A River and its People," investigates the demands of a working river and why the Henry's Fork Foundation was created in response. Watch video>>
