Elementary
Parents of Elementary and Middle School students,
Students in grades kindergarten through grade seven took the annual standardized tests in the month of April. The school received the results from the testing and have sent the access code to all parents. This code allows the parent to go into the data base and look at the results. These codes were sent by US mail to the family home. This new way of accessing the results was available last year and is once again available this year.
TRCS sees this improved method of reporting as a great way to provide quick access to results. Parents that use this access point should provide Miss Zoet with feedback if this is beneficial. Paper copies will also be provided in the next couple of weeks when the school receives these documents.
Teachers will be provided additional training in interpreting test results in the near future. The school uses the test results to help with placement in some math groupings, checking for growth in academic areas and possible holes in curriculum.

Child Development Center
"Thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere!" 2 Corinthians 2:14
We acknowledge, recognize and celebrate with children what they have learned and assist them in preparation for the next stages of education, growth and development. It has been an exciting year and it is with enthusiasm that we look forward to our summer program and upcoming school year of 2014/2015!
Our teachers provide a learning environment that affirms and supports development for every child. Core integrated curriculums include: WEE Learn, Making a Difference, Core Concepts of Early Literacy and Exploring God's World. The Washington State Early Learning and Development Manual is an essential resource that is used by teaching staff to provide tools and strategies for children Birth through 3rd grade.
We are looking forward to our summer program and eagerly preparing for "TRCS Camp 2014, God's Big Backyard!" We have 10 weeks to enjoy camp activities filled with exciting adventure, exploration and discovery!
The Center continues to be committed to the children and families of our community as we nurture our "Kinship Community Garden" led by Ms. Diane Dallas. We will be collecting seeds for this special endeavor and invite you to be a part of this ministry. Please join us as we gather packages of garden seeds, plants and materials for raised garden beds. It is always amazing what God can do as we all work to together for His good! Please feel free to contact our front desk at 360-423-4510 with any questions you may have.
There are so many ways to extend God's provision to others... It is my prayer that we are refreshed and filled up this season, as we rest in in the fact that God's best is yet to come!

TRCS Athletic Update
A Message from Athletic Director, Tim Carns

During the past few years at Three Rivers Christian School, our athletes have been making history in the following ways:
Girls' volleyball went to the State Tournament for the sixth year in a row. A number of girls on that team were selected for the All-League teams. Jordan Caddel, Toni Stout, and Kaylee Welsh were selected All-League First Team. Stephanie Maldonado, Selena Carns and Kenna Forney were selected for the second team, and Jesse Caddel was named the Columbia Valley League MVP. Jesse Caddel was also selected for the 2013 All TDN second team.
Our Cross Country team qualified for the State Tournament for the third year in a row. Seth Carns, Karsten Rentner and Kaden Vanderwerf all placed in the District tournament to take the team to State. At State, Seth Carns placed 9th.
Our basketball teams were very successful this year. The Lady Eagles tied for League Champions and qualified for the District Tournament. Although they were knocked out in the first round, multiple Eagles were selected for the All-League teams. Jordan Caddel and Jesse Caddel were selected for the All-League first team. Ailee Vegh, Charity Tevis and Selena Carns were selected All-League Honorable Mentions, and Stephanie Maldonado was selected as the Columbia Valley League MVP.
The boys' team made history in many ways this season. After an impressive season, the Eagles were named League Champions. The boys soared through the District Tournament, claiming second place. After a great regional game, the boys became the first basketball team from TRCS to ever qualify for the State tournament. In Spokane, the boys took home the 4th place trophy. This successful team contained multiple All-League athletes. Danny Hull and Eric Powell were selected for the All-League First Team. Seth Carns was selected second team and Zach Martinez was named Columbia Valley League MVP.
Along with league recognition, Zach Martinez was also selected for the All-State team, and the Lower Columbia Senior All-Star game. Stephanie Maldonado also became the first girl from TRCS to be selected to play in the Lower Columbia Senior All-Star game.
These teams were encouraged every step of the way by our amazing cheerleaders and fans. Our cheerleaders were named State Academic Champions for 1B schools this year with the highest GPA of all 1B schools in Washington. Another aspect of TRCS athletics was our small, but rowdy "6th man". Our fans made an impact at the State basketball tournament so much that the local Spokane news crew did a segment about Three Rivers Christian, the boys' basketball team and our fans. Athletics at TRCS continue to grow and succeed. I look forward to the coming years of more success with new athletes and new experiences.
Thanks -
Tim Carns, TRCS Athletic Director
