 Message from the CMO
As we welcome spring, multiple forces are in play that will affect us as we work in our Hospitals. Hopefully, all of us are becoming fluent with certain components of the national health care transformation objectives, specifically the triple aim: 1) Higher quality and better patient experiences; 2) Improved health of our communities; and 3) Cost management. Over the next three to five years, we will be individually and collectively evaluated and rated by our success in these areas. These metrics will truly become the coin of the realm in the new healthcare era.
No one seems to have all of the right answers now, and these next years will be full of experimentation. For us to be successful, we'll need to have the skill sets of learning, unlearning, and relearning. National success stories have illustrated the need for increased partnerships between physicians and hospitals. We can no longer see ourselves only as a customer or simply see the hospital as a personal workshop.
