Spring Housecleaning
At this time of the year we have a lot of activity related to our church annual pledges (thank you!). In order to keep accurate records, we need to know exactly which pledge period your check covers. Our current church year is July 2013 - June 2014, next year's pledge year is 2014-15. Please indicate on your check whether it's for the current church year (2013-14) or prepayment for next year's pledge (2014-15). Many thanks. |
Church Security & Loss Prevention
We need to be careful of our keys, wallets, purses, etc. Keep your valuables with you at all times.

Ten Years of Marriage Equality
Rev. David M. Bryce
9:00 & 11:00 Church Service
Childcare for infants and young children
On May 17, 2004 marriage equality came to Massachusetts. Unitarian Universalists can take pride in their participation in the effort to achieve this milestone. Today we will celebrate marriage equality in our state, but also will remember how far a road we as a nation have yet to journey to reach full equality for all.

Reflections from Rev. David Bryce, Senior Minister
There is a tree on the Town Green that I can see from my office window that has a trunk with a huge circumference. I do not know how long that tree has been there (I am not a good guesser of ages, especially of tree ages), but I assume it is hundreds of years.
It may have been there (I assume it was) on the Day that our Patriot's Day celebrates.
It may have been there to witness Native American hunters walk by.
It may have been there when English colonists landed in what is today Plymouth.
Age such as that always impresses me and gives me a sense of awe.
And yet, the age of even a several hundred year old tree is as nothing compared to the ages of other things we see every day. The sun, the moon, the stars.
Part of me longs to live to such an age, to see what will be far into the future. Alas, that shall not be. However, when I look at the tree or look at the moon, I do feel a sense of partaking in their age, of being brought by them to times past and, therefore, to time future. I like that experience. May I always be open to it. |

IT'S RUMMAGE WEEK! SALE IS SATURDAY, MAY 3
Volunteer anytime during the hours of 10am-9pm Mon.-Thur.
Deliver your donations by Wednesday, April 30.
Help is still needed on Saturday, during and after the Sale.*
*Even after the Sale is over, it's still doing good things! Our remainders help to supply the clients of other non-profits and to fund their organizations. They love to get our stuff, but the transfer only happens when volunteers shop for them, box the goods, and take these to the organization or to your home for pickup. Please sign up for Adopt-a-Charity on the boards in the Upper Gathering Hall or online at http://vols.pt/yG1e22. Drivers of large vans or pickups are needed. Also hangers, boxes, and paper can all be recycled if there are enough volunteers. Come Saturday anytime between 2 and 5, and help others and speed the clean-up process.
Thanks in advance and see you at the Sale! |
