  1. New Agent Group Bonus: $300 for first 3 issued groups in a 60 day period. Brian Heath will assign the bonus start date to each new agent for their worksite sales incentive period.
  2. All Agent Annual Bonus: Up to $1,050 per quarter. 2% bonus for 15,000+, 2.5% bonus for 2,5000+, 3% bonus for 35,000+

Justin Cotta Holmes, Principal and Founder, Inform

Justin Cotta Holmes is the Principal and Founder of Inform, a firm specializing in retirement planning, life and long-term-care insurances, and business and employee benefits.

His approach to working with clients is one that is both relaxed and confident. Justin particularly enjoys working with fellow Mainers who are seeking advice on retirement strategies. His sound and well-researched solutions provide clients with solid financial plans.

Justin is passionate about his career, and he comments, "Growing up in Maine, I witnessed how hard my family and their friends worked to provide for their families. These people sacrificed so much to make sure that no one went without. I believe that these people have more than earned the right to spend their retirement years in comfort and surrounded by those they love. I consider it a privilege to be able to call these individuals my clients and truly enjoy providing them with solutions in these matters."

Tell Me More
The Story of the Underdog

In the mid-1930's, a kid from Illinois struggled to read as he grew up. His brain would not allow him to read as smoothly because words were mixed up in his head as he read along, causing his pace and comprehension to be much below average. He was diagnosed as being dyslexic, which for most people would be considered a disadvantage. The only thing is, he didn't look at it that way, and he turned his disadvantages into a strength. You see, he knew that he couldn't read as well as the other kids in class, but he knew that he could overcome that by becoming an avid listener. While other kids in class would be taking notes and reading texts, he would be listening to the teacher and he would remember every single word he heard.

There are several lessons to be learned within this story but I want to focus on #1. Listening is a strength but not something that is given to us, it is something we must teach ourselves and we must continually work on becoming better listeners. Too often, we are caught thinking of what we want to say next instead of listening to what the customer, colleague, manager, or significant other is saying to us. They will often identify exactly what we need to do to win them over in their words, but if we are not listening how can we possibly hear them?

"Tell me more" is a three word statement that should be said in your conversations each and every day. Let them talk, let them tell you what they want you to do for them, and then doing it is the easy part.

  • "Tell me more about your current marketing plan."
  • "Tell me more about your staff and what each person's role is."
  • "Tell me more what your plans are for tax season."
  • "Tell me what your current FMO or IMO does for you."
People love to hear themselves talk, but don't be the one talking. After all, we are given two ears and one mouth for a reason, right?

David Boies would go on to law school, and become one of the leading trial attorneys in the country. For someone who still can't read at a 6th grade reading level, this is unbelievable. If you know any lawyers, all they do is read!

Find this and other stories in Malcolm Gladwell's latest book, "David and Goliath," which teaches you about the underdogs, and why they may even have the advantage.
