Greetings!

October not only brings crisp fall weather, but it also marks the start of the fourth and final quarter of the calendar year. The weather outside may be starting to cool down, but things are heating up at CBU.

In this newsletter, we congratulate Jac Arbour on his first book going to print as well as agents who earned Washington National's cash incentive.  Our three Business Builder Seminar speakers are introduced and we discuss the APW and SSR workshops. As always, we also have a new sales tip from the Million Dollar Round Table.

Jac Arbour's First Book Goes to Print
"May You Drink from the Saucer: Timeless Truths for an Extraordinary Life"

Jac Arbour's entrepreneurial spirit and desire to share the wisdom of his mentors inspired him to write his first book: "May You Drink from the Saucer." Jac's commitment to the financial literacy and personal development of others fuels his passions for philanthropy and community involvement. Jac has made it a focus to integrate these passions into his life insurance and estate planning career.

Danny Cox, author and hall of fame speaker praises, "This book forms a firm foundation for building a significant life full of barrier-breaking accomplishment and personal fulfillment. Your underdeveloped potential is about to go for quite a ride!"

"May You Drink from the Saucer" is your starting point for a life overflowing with learning, growth, and fulfilled dreams! These timeless truths and practical ways to apply them will serve you right away and for the rest of your life.

Asset Preservation Workshop & Social Security Rescue
Turn-Key Marketing Systems

Over the past twenty five years, financial professionals around the country have utilized seminars in order to share their message. Why? Well, the answer is simple. Seminars provide the ability to tell a story one time to a large audience, rather than to one individual at a time. As a result, you are leveraging the two most valuable assets that you have, yourself and your time.

Asset Preservation Workshop is a complete turn-key system designed to continually deliver new prospects to you each month by hosting a two-hour educational seminar. Plug into a complete marketing and business development system that provides a national speaker, seminar presentation, and estate planning attorney's expertise.

Social Security Rescue is a proven seminar system that is designed to educate married couples on the best time to enroll for Social Security Benefits. This new system can show couples how to maximize their lifetime income by using fact finders, sales tools, and professionally designed presentation modules.

Selling Like the Pros
Here are some things to keep in mind as you sell your products and services. MDRT
  • You're still there to educate. The trick with selling many financial products is that clients need help in understanding them-even if some products today are more transparent and straightforward than they were. This only reinforces the teaching role you have as financial advisors. This is especially true in worksite marketing, where the advisor's job has gotten harder.
  • Answer your phone. Make every incoming call  a sales opportunity.
  • Be the shoulder to lean on. Clients are extremely skittish these days; you have to be their rock. People haven't forgotten how devastated many of their retirement accounts and investment portfolios were five or six years ago, and they're looking or competent agents and advisors to help them.
  • Don't be stubborn. Realize that the products you're used to selling aren't necessarily what people need or want now.
  • Be the wet blanket for your investing clients. One way to demonstrate trustworthiness is simply to remind clients about the inevitability of market corrections when the market is soaring.
  • Continue selling. Even if all of your clients are referrals, you still have to sell your products and services.
