First Dibs: Your advanced look at giant wooden eagle, 19th Century photos, antique baby stroller

We know Friday afternoon is probably not the greatest time to send out another newsletter, and it's rare that we send two within three days, but Won-ok and I are all kinds of fired up about getting more stuff out of our house. We've got friends and family coming and we need to make our place look more like a home, less like the stockroom of an antiques shop!

Today we've got a giant wooden eagle, two old photo albums and an antique baby stroller. See photo album here. We can ship the photo albums. The eagle would have to be delivered (we can do that for you) or picked up. Ditto for the stroller. You're welcome to contact us to set up an appointment to view the giant eagle or the stroller unless we take the stroller to one of our retail outlets this weekend.

We won't be moving the eagle out of here until at least November so you've got plenty of time to see him. Note that half of the money obtained from the sale of the eagle will go to one of our favorite charities, Pyramid Atlantic Arts Center

in Silver Spring. We have raised money for them for the past several years.
Tons of stuff on eBay!

Our clean-house operation extends to our eBay page, too. If you end up winning any bid, we will give you a 5-percent discount on jewelry and a 10-percent discount on any other items when you check out. Just email Chris if you win something and tell us what it is so that we know you're one of our supporters and to make the deduction on the invoice.

Good TV: "Salvage Dawgs" on DIY Network is worth watching

We watch about every show there is on TV about the world of antiques, collectibles, estate sales and renovations. One of our favorites is "Salvage Dawgs," which returns for another season this Sunday night on the DIY Network. This Virginia company takes all kinds of often discarded material and turns it into stunning re-purposed furniture and decor. Give yourself a treat and some inspiration by watching this show. Orion's Attic aspires to follow in their footsteps some day!
