You're invited to VIP estate sale in Ashburn VA on Aug. 30!
 In our continuing effort to reward all of our great supporters who subscribe to our e-newsletter and follow us on Facebook, we're inviting you to a subscribers-only estate sale on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at an upscale home in Ashburn, Virginia. (Note the starting time is one hour later than our usual start. We'll send the address later this week.) All you need to do is show up and use the secret password "sled dog" in honor of the Orion's Attic namesake and you're in!
Here's what's happening: You'll be allowed one full day of shopping before we open the sale to the general public the following Saturday. That means you won't be battling huge crowds to get in and there won't be the usual frenzy once you are in. Conversely, you're not going to walk into the immaculately organized and priced sale you're used to seeing with us. Instead, you're going to essentially see a house not much different from how we first saw it. We'll be working throughout the day to set up the public sale. This means most items won't be priced so you can practice your haggling skills. You'll be seeing many of the items before we do, picking what you like and taking them to the pay counter or asking or negotiating with the staff member nearest you. It will be fun for everybody as you get to play American Picker.
The clients aren't moving out until Thursday so we have no time to do our normal prep work or take photos.
Highlights include: gorgeous dining table and chairs, breakfast table and chairs, a wide variety of other furniture like side tables, coffee tables, book shelves and more, jewelry, decorative lamps, china, crystal, electronics, books including some antiquarian books, antiques, collectibles, figurines, art, all kinds of home decor, kitchenware, garden stuff, and so, so much more. And that's just in the main house. You might especially love the garage, which is packed floor to ceiling with shelf after shelf of all kinds of items -- many in their original boxes -- obtained from decades of living there. 
Trust us when we say this special Saturday offers tons of fun -- literally.

Thanks to everyone who emptied our Bethesda house!
Our last estate sale in Bethesda, Maryland was another  tremendous success. Thank you to everyone who came out and to you very serious shoppers who made repeat visits. We sold out most of what was in the home including all the mermaids, biker stuff, police/emergency responder pins and about everything else. We even sold the drone and the silver coin-filled toilet seat!
Our client was also kind enough to allow us to donate the remaining items including beds and other critical items to one of our favorite charities -- A Wider Circle in Silver Spring, Maryland. If you have furniture, clothing and household items that could help families in need fill their homes, we encourage you to take them to A Wider Circle, too.
