News From Orion's Attic
Fort Washington MD estate sale will heat up Dec. 15-16

Looking for a tremendous treasure for your home or some amazing Christmas gifts? Head to our next big estate sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 15-16 at 12905 Heather Circle in Fort Washington, Maryland. The owner is an amazing man - a World War II veteran - with a home packed with items he and his wife obtained over the course of some 40 years. Several rooms of the house were designed by a decorator who did work for the White House.

You'll find everything from modern mid-century furniture to a workshop and garage full of tools. In between is everything from folk art and fine clothing to hand-assembled doll houses and grandfather clocks. We will also be baking cookies and serving coffee and other treats throughout the day.

View an extensive list of items up for sale on the Orion's Attic blog. The blog post also contains a link to more than 400 photos on our Facebook photo album. The list of items up for sale is too long to completely cover here but a partial list follows. Note that no one will be allowed to enter the home before 9 a.m. each day. Shoppers arriving before 9 a.m. are welcome to stand in line. Credit cards are accepted.

You'll see more on the links above but just to whet your appetite here, the sale features a ton of furniture including a sleek table made in Sweden in 1959, Eames style chair and ottoman, 100-plus piece set of Noritake china (Segovia pattern), pinball machine, a garage and workshop full of tools, Christmas collectibles, a potentially authentic 1934 Laurel and Hardy movie poster (we're still researching), and some really fun folk art.

Mention that you're a newsletter subscriber or Facebook follower and we will provide extra discounts as always.

Hand-made Persian rug sale coming just before Christmas

Orion's Attic is thrilled to announce that we will soon be hosting our first ever online estate sale auction -- featuring a collection of more than 100 hand-made Persian rugs and a house full of great furniture. This is a tremendous chance for shoppers to snag extremely high quality rugs for what will likely prove to be way below retail prices.

We are partnering with our friends at Capitol Online Auctions to run this sale. Both companies are working feverishly to prepare for the sale. The full list of photos and contents should be up on the Capitol Online Auctions site soon. We will send out a special edition of the newsletter to give you all the information.

How will this sale work? You will be able to visit the Web site above, see everything that's for sale, and plan to attend an in-person preview day at the Great Falls, VA home to inspect everything for yourself. You bid online and then come to pick up what you win.

The rugs are the homeowner's prized collection. Featuring everything from room-sized rugs to runners, the rugs would cover more than 13,000 square feet if you lined them all up together. Stay tuned to this newsletter, our blog and Facebook page!
