Upscale Yard Sale Dec. 1-2: From Christmas to Coca-Cola
Looking for a yard sale with great stuff instead of junk? Want to grab some great Christmas gifts or find a something for yourself or your home? Come to our next Upscale Yard Sale on Saturday Dec. 1 and Sunday Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, located at 8230 Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring. We'll be putting all kinds of things up for sale this weekend. Most of the collectibles come from an antiques shop that closed this year. A lot of other items are from estate sales we've conducted and from houses whose contents we bought out but have never had time to sell. We're offering the majority of these goodies at deep discounts to clear out our storage units. We'll also be making a contribution Pyramid Atlantic, a fantastic arts organization. Highlights of this weekend's sale include but are not limited to hand-painted Christmas village scenes and other Christmas décor, vintage Coca-Cola cooler, costume jewelry, all kinds of art, china, ceramics, porcelain, collectibles (including Hummels and a ton of other things), glass, home décor, tools and toys. Who knows what else we'll find when we unpack a moving truck full the boxes. This should be fun!

Estate sale set for Dec. 15-16 at White House-inspired home
Save the dates of Dec. 15-16 to visit an Annandale, Virginia estate sale in a home whose living and dining room were designed by an interior decorator who did work for the White House in the 1970s. Full details and a slew of photos will follow in the next e-newsletter but we anticipate the sale running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Highlights include an Eames-style chair and ottoman, mid-century dining table and chairs stamped with 1959 date and northern European country of origin, two rooms of fine furnishings from Danker Furniture, oil on canvas paintings, large hand-made doll house, mechanical pinball machine, tools, collectibles, beds, flat screen TV and so much more.
The homeowner is an amazing story himself -- a World War II veteran who later did everything from working in grocery stores to serving the GAO. More about him later, too.
Stay tuned to the newsletter also keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details.
