This Week at Strawbridge July 8, 2016

Greetings:

"Who really is Christ for us today?" Not who was Christ for the first century or the third century? Or who was Christ for the Colossians? But, rather, who is Christ for us? Who is Christ for us individually and as a church? Paul in his letter to the church at Colossae asked those people this exact same question. Come join us this Sunday as we all have a chance to think about this question for ourselves and for Strawbridge! I'll look forward to seeing you!

Adult Study-"Secrets of a Teenage Brain"

Join us in Room 210 on Sunday mornings at 10:00 - 11:05 a.m. We know that parents of pre-teen and teens face challenging issues every day. Join us as we talk about strategies and solutions regarding social media, communication, respect, bullying and other topics related to guiding this age group.

Strawbridge Security Policy Information

Trustees have provided a binder to sign in and out any time someone enters the church building. Please use the entrance near the church office to enter and exit. All other doors should remain locked. Members, when entering please sign the binder (which is to your left upon entering) and sign out as you exit at all times. During business hours visitors will be given a badge to return to the information desk, after hours stick on name tags will be available by the binder. If you have an event or large group the leader needs to sign in and out for that event or group. If after hours the last person to sign out is asked to turn off all lights, set the alarm and verify the door is locked and securely closed. This procedure will not be used during worship times on Sundays, after worship it will need to be followed for Sunday afternoon and evening. If you have any questions please contact the church office 281-360-4500.

Library Volunteer- We are looking for a volunteer to take on the Library here at SUMC. Required skills for the position are: a love of books and a willingness to jump in with both feet. Benefits are flexible hours, air conditioned work space and being able to use all of your organizational skills. If you are interested please contact the church office at 281-360-4500.

Howard's House for Habitat will be dedicated tomorrow at 9 AM

Feed My Lambs meets third Thursdays during the year. We will meet July 21st at White Oak apartments community room at 10:15 a.m. We won't have Feed My Lambs in August but we will begin again on September 15th.

Bordersville Community Center

Help coordinate, prepare and/or serve lunch to senior citizens who attend monthly. Supply bingo prizes (donation box available in the Activity Corridor) and/or assist players. SUMC MUSIC AND FINE ARTS MINISTRY

Pick up a card on the kiosk in the Narthex. Write down your three favorite hymns and put the completed card in the basket on the kiosk in the Narthex. Pastor Laurie will use this information to make the list of hymns for the hymn sing on August 7th.
