This Week at Strawbridge May 27, 2016

Greetings:

Spelunking is not something one usually associates with church. That is unless you are attending Cave Quest: Following Jesus the Light of the World, our Vacation Bible School at Strawbridge UMC June 20-24. That may seem like a long way away, but preparations are already underway. In fact, during the course of the Sundays leading up to VBS our worship will examine the very scriptures and themes our children will be studying. I invite you to join me this Sunday for week 1 of our worship series, Jesus Gives us Hope, based on John 1:1-14.

Adult Class Information

Adult Study-"Secrets of a Teenage Brain"

Join us in Room 210 on Sunday mornings at 10:00 - 11:05 a.m. We know that parents of pre-teen and teens face challenging issues every day. Join us as we talk about strategies and solutions regarding social media, communication, respect, bullying and other topics related to guiding this age group.

Men's Bible Study Class:

Want to learn what Heaven is going to be like? Along with teaching on the Book of Mark this Lenten Season we will be discussing what Heaven will be like. Join us in the Men's Bible Study Class Sunday Morning in Room 212 @ 10:15 - 11:00 a.m.

Parents of Young Children:

The Parents of Young Children Sunday school class will be reading and discussing, The Five Love Languages of Children. You don't even have to have young children in order to join us. We would love to see you in the SAC at 10:05 Sunday mornings!

The Seekers Class:

Backyard VBS @ Elm Grove

August 1-3 at Elm Grove Elementary. Volunteers are needed to help with this amazing ministry. There will be a Volunteer meeting on June 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Choir Room (Room 154). Nursery will be provided. Questions contact Pastor Emily at

Announcements

Strawbridge Security Policy Information

Trustees have provided a binder to sign in and out any time someone

enters the church building. Please use the entrance near the church

office to enter and exit. All other doors should remain locked. Members, when entering please sign the binder (which is to your left upon entering) and sign out as you exit at all times. During business hours visitors will be given a badge to return to the information desk, after hours stick on name tags will be available by the binder. If you have an event or large group the leader needs to sign in and out for that event or group. If after hours the last person to sign out is asked to turn off all lights, set the alarm and verify the door is locked and securely closed. This procedure will not be used during worship times on Sundays, after worship it will need to be followed for Sunday afternoon and evening. If you have any questions please contact the church office 281-360-4500.
