Greetings:
As we continue making our way through the Gospel of Mark, this week we run into a demoniac in Gentile country possessed by a legion of evil spirits. Forsaken and forlorn, he confronts Jesus with a surprising request. What did Jesus do, and could this scene possibly have to offer our 21st century post-enlightenment, post-modern, technologically driven world? Join me this Sunday and find out as we explore Mark 5:1-20, "Jesus Heals a Demoniac."
Dr. Todd Jordan
Senior Pastor

ONLINE SHOPPING-www.umcmarket.org
Lots of online retailers will give a percentage of your purchase to
Strawbridge UMC through the UMCmarket! All you need to do is visit www.umcmarket.org and register. Specify the church, "Kingwood Strawbridge". Then when you're ready to buy, just log into your UMCmarket account and shop at any of the partner retailers and, PRESTO, a percentage of the sale is given to the church. We need $100 in the account before we get a check, so the more the site is used the more the church benefits.
Shopping has never been so easy and you don't have to leave home, fight the crowds or find that perfect parking spot!

Our Spring Blood Drive will be held on Sunday, 3/13 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Donor Coach in the parking lot. Your "Gift of Life" is especially important at this time of the year. Because of Spring Break and the Easter holidays, some regular donors will be unavailable. The new "Zika" virus outbreak has caused the Blood Center to put a 28-day deferral on any potential donor who has traveled to Mexico or some Central and South American countries. This deferral has the effect of temporarily reducing the available donor base. Your priceless gift can help keep the local blood supply from reaching critical levels. We'll be signing up donors on Sunday, 2/28 and Sunday, 3/6 in the Activities Corridor. Please stop by the table and
schedule your appointment.

Our mission: giving Ukrainian orphans an unforgettable family experience.
American families welcome an orphan into their homes to live with them for 4-10 weeks during Ukraine's Winter or Summer school holidays. Host families shares God's love with the child, as well as their own values, hobbies and beliefs. Just as the orphan child experiences American culture and the English language, so also the host family learns from the child about Ukraine's customs, history, beliefs and culture. Host children range in age from 7-16 years. Hosting an orphan child is a lot like going on a mission trip. Except you're bringing the mission trip to your home where the entire family gets to be involved in giving the blessing, no matter how old or young. In our experience, host families intend to bless an orphan child, but often find they also receive an incredible blessing, as they give the child the gift of hope and love.
If you would like to know more about this wonderful mission experience contact Sheela Allen at sheela@hostukraine.org or call 281-384-3201. Strawbridge will also have an ongoing donation area in the Activity Corridor for donations for the orphans; a list will be posted by the table.
