Greetings:
 How often have we echoed the plea of the storm-tossed disciples: "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?" As their boat is flooding, Jesus is found asleep in the stern. Sometimes we feel like God is asleep at the wheel as well. Of course, God never promised a smooth ride, only to be with us for the journey. And sometimes he calms the storm, sometimes he simply calms us. Either way, God is present and at work in our lives. Join me this Sunday as we explore Mark 4:35-41 and bear witness as Jesus Calms the Storm.

Join us as we talk about strategies and solutions regarding social media, communication, respect, bullying and other topics related to guiding this age group.

In depth Bible study, hosting Men's Breakfast events, cooking for various church events, involved in church outreach programs and organizing the church Classic Car expo. We need plastic eggs and candy for the Easter Egg Hunt.
No chocolate, nuts or jelly beans. Candy needs to be wrapped
and also has to fit in an egg. Please bring to church and
place in the container in the Activity Corridor
on the Children's table.

Habitat for Howard's House
The roof trusses are up! On Saturday February 27th we will put on the roof decking, tape the wall seams on the outside walls and hopefully get to the hurricane clips. We need about 18 volunteers. We meet at 7 a.m at SUMC for carpool. Lunch is provided and we wrap up about 3 p.m.

Registration is opening soon for Bright Beginnings Learning Center, a preschool ministry of Strawbridge UMC. Registration for the 2016-2017 school year begins Tuesday, February 23, 2016 for Strawbridge UMC members and current students. Registration will open to the community beginning March 1, 2016. Bright Beginnings Learning Center (BBLC) is a ministry of Strawbridge UMC that offers toddler programs for children 18 months through two years, and preschool programs for children who are three, four, and five years old. Our program offers 2, 3 or 4 day options from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. We have daily music and chapel time, with weekly activities which include science, a story teller and "Gym Bugs". Our mission is to provide creative learning experiences to stimulate children socially, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and physically in a loving, nurturing, Christian environment. Our mission: giving Ukrainian orphans an unforgettable family experience.
American families welcome an orphan into their homes to live with them for 4-10 weeks during Ukraine's Winter or Summer school holidays. Host families shares God's love with the child, as well as their own values, hobbies and beliefs. Just as the orphan child experiences American culture and the English language, so also the host family learns from the child about Ukraine's customs, history, beliefs and culture. Host children range in age from 7-16 years. Hosting an orphan child is a lot like going on a mission trip. Except you're bringing the mission trip to your home where the entire family gets to be involved in giving the blessing, no matter how old or young. In our experience, host families intend to bless an orphan child, but often find they also receive an incredible blessing, as they give the child the gift of hope and love.
